Westboro Baptist Church to protest at funeral of Navy SEAL Chris Kyle

The radical fringe group tied together by hate and the Christian term “Baptist” is once-again vowing to cause discord at the funeral of an American warrior.

On Monday, Feb. 11, at 1:00, mourners will fill Cowboy Stadium in Arlington, Texas, to honor and remember a hero, Christopher Scott Kyle, 38. The fanatics of Westboro Baptist Church plan to show up with pickets, taunts, and hate signs protesting all U.S. troops.

Navy SEAL, Chris Kyle, was inexplicably gunned down at close range last Saturday while he was helping a young Marine veteran over a rough post-deployment time. With Kyle that day was his friend Chad Littlefield, who was also murdered, both allegedly by Eddie Ray Routh, 25.

Routh is said to have confessed the dual murders to his sister.

The work that Chris Kyle did in his military career was by necessity fairly clandestine, but once he was no longer active duty, he wrote the best-selling book, “American Sniper”. He was recently more visible when he appeared on the NBC TV reality show last fall, “Stars Earn Stripes.”

So when hundreds of mourners come to pay their respects on Monday afternoon, the hate-group “Westborians” will also be there to show their disrespect for a warrior who was willing to give his life for their right to do so.

Examiner’s Note: While nothing official has crossed my desk, it’s a sure bet the Patriot Guard Riders will be at Cowboy Stadium on Monday to protect Chris Kyle’s widow, three children and hundreds, maybe thousands, of friends and admirers.

Hope the protestors wear plate carriers....

Oh yeah, that's just what we need right now, martyring bigots and hypocrits. The gun grabbers would love it as well. Best that they get arrested for overstepping Texas law somewhere.

Living in the same town as these idiots, too often I see their filthy posters. Unfortunately, the Supreme Court said they have the right to show how stupid they are. The Patriot Guard has performed a marvelous service to families of our heroes. Recently, here in Topeka, we had two police officers gunned down when they responded to a call. The Patriot Guard showed up in full force as did many supporters from the area, to provide a cordon of flags to block out the idiots.
The best answer I have seen to these jerks has been a group of counterprotestors that set up across the street from the Westboro group. They had approprite signs that were the opposite of the goons. What I remember most was the 7 or 8 counterprotestors were dressed as clowns. It only took a minute or 2 for the Westboro group to give up and leave. They couldn't match that.
Thanks to Chris Kyle for his service and the additional effort he put out to help our veterans.

I have been preaching the gospel for the past 30 years and can assure all that the radical actions of these people is in no way supported in New Testament scripture. Although I'm not affiliated with the Baptist church I am friends with many and the radical actions of these people in no way reflect the teaching of the Baptist church. I fail to understand why the Baptist Association has not sought an injunction to prohibit these cult members from using the title of "Baptist Church" in order to distance themselves from such misguided individuals. That being said may God bless the family of Chris Kyle. May they be comforted by His Holy Spirit. And may God open the eyes of the misguided souls at Westboro so that they might realize that the judgements they have pronounced on others will be returned to them when they stand before God.

I have no respect for them, but I don't see how their clam of guidance from on high is any less valid than anyone else's claim of guidance from on high. That has always been the danger with "god told me so" - it is never more than "I said god told me so."

At this point they just seem intent on getting attention.

Patriot Guard of Texas is already on top of this. The Patriot Guard is WELL versed in peacefully blocking these clowns from the families view and will do so here as well.
I would expect that they will have assistance from the Texas LEO's in making sure that while they exercise their right to protest, the family and mourners will be shielded from their hated and stupidity.

Also, in my years of experience with the westboro cult, they often state they will be protesting at high profile funerals such as this and they back out due to fear or other reasons. Can only hope this is the case here, but as stated, if not, the Patriot Guard will be there as always to help shield the family from the hatred and to show their high respect for Chris Kyle and his family.

We here in Reno (Nevada), also had a fallen warrior's funeral service, protested by this same group of idiots! It got pretty heated, Patriot Guard Riders weren't as aggressive as the rest of us Vets! My son
pushed a Westboro guy off a snow bank, into a cow pasture. He emerged with an appropriate amount off cow dung on him! As the protesters fled the area, one of them was saying on a cell phone that the
operation FAILED! They haven't been back to Reno, to protest any other military funerals since.

May Chris Kyle's service be conducted without being subjected to the Westboro Baptist group, slandering his honorable service to his country.

My Prayers Go Out To His Family and Friends,
Marty (usn-Ret.)

Maybe somebody could get the New Black Panther Party to show up and they would all kill each other. Two problems solved, yay for violence, right?

Why aren't they defending the 2nd Ammendment as hard as they are the 1st Ammendment?? If the freedom of speech can go this far - lets carry the right to bear arms to the extreme...

And may that happen real soon.:butcher:

Thanks Woody57 for your post. I'm not sure what the writer of the article meant by his "baptist" comment. I pastor a baptist church in rural Missouri, and can confidently state that we don't teach and believe in this way at all.
