Went to a gun show yesterday...

SR40c

Done told her once...
Really lucked out and found 1000 .223 brass casings and 2000 55gr bullets. Not kidding. There were hundreds of people nut to butt in that place and just happened to walk by a table as the two guys started bagging up the shell casings. Had probably been at that show for about 3 hours and only had a couple more rows to go. Perhaps the biggest score of the weekend by anyone. Well, except for maybe one other individual.

At one of the tables we noticed a Barrett .50 cal equipped with what appeared to be a very high tech optics system. Honestly don't know much about these things other that what one can see on a documentary and what not. Pal that was with me asked the dealer how much he wanted for it. He casually gave us a response of 12K. (Yup... $12,000). In response to our looks of surprise, he then reminded us that the sight system was almost as much as the rifle.

About an hour later, as we were hustling back to another table to get small rifle primers we seen earlier, we happened to notice the Barrett was GONE! After confirming the mistake of not buying the primers at the time, we went back to the next table and asked the guy if he put the Barrett away to make room for other items. He told us no, that he had sold it. Cash and carry.

An interesting day at the gun show indeed...

I can remember going to a gun show about a decade or so ago and they had a Barrett .50 for sale. Was around 8k then w/scope.

Have a friend who picked up two Barretts at 13K each. Night scope and day scope.......He also picked up 1,00 rounds for each.
Money is not a real issue to him....

Whoa... obviously not. Not sure how much the ammo costs, but heard that they are like $7.00 a round, is that close?

I went to the gun show in Albany on Sunday, and no surprise, there wasn't an AR or AK in sight. There was a fair amount of 5.56 ammo, but it was priced at about $200 per 200 round battle pack. Fresh from Serbia no less. A couple tables were selling magazines at around $30 a piece, they'll have to get rid of them by April 15. The crowd was a little smaller than average, but the dealers all said that Saturdays crowd was large.

You should get the battle packs of 5.56, offer cash and maybe you'll get a small discount... I've been getting what long-term storage ammo I can.

Agreed. Money talks.

I been buying up all the mosin ammo i can find. HP, SP, FMJ, whatever. Up to 2k from a mere 14 rounds left over from deer season. There's a show in Rice Lake WI on the 2d or 4th. I'm definitely going.

I had bought out a local shop here of 5.45x39mm, picked up a few thousand total before they said no mas. I've picked up a handful of the 7.62x54R spam cans over the past few months. I've got at least one .30cal ammo can for each caliber I have, keep the seals good and toss in an O2/humidity absorber and call it good. Maybe I'm crazy... maybe I'm not.. either way, I'm glad I bought what I bought... when I bought it.
