We name our boats, our cars, our pets...

... but, have you named your firearms? I thought we could have some lighthearted fun telling what names we've chosen.

Not sure if you would really call them names but sometimes I refer to my guns as a heater and sometimes my equalizers.

The obvious one

I don't name my guns but Justice sounds appropriate haha. I think I've heard that somewhere before, don't remember where. I also like Thor, god of thunder haha.

I didn't know you were 'gangsta' like that :pleasantry:

lol 'gangsta' slang for firearms:

Heater
Gat
Toast
Burner
Rod
Piece
Streetsweeper

add as you wish lmao jk HK just giving you a hard time.

As per gangsta slang, I do believe that "gat" and "heater" have been around for decades (think Humphrey Bogart in old gangster flicks).

I haven't officially named my carry piece (do occasionally refer to it as "The Terminator") but I have been known to affectionately talk to it at the end of the day when I remove it from my holster.

Seems like a long time back they also called them Roscoes. Seems like I remember that from old gangster movies. i.e. Cagney, Bogart era movies.

Yeah, I do seem to remember that. I like it (I like 'gat', too). Sounds like a cool name, too...hereafter, my XD will be known as "Roscoe". :to_pick_ones_nose:

It would be interesting to find out how these slang terms came into being. Who first coined the phrases.

I met Margaret at the store, it just felt so right when I held her ... I had to bring her home with me .... I'd trust her with my life ... I keep her close to me at all times .... She's usually in my pants:fie: IWB .... I sleep with her close by .......Sometimes I rub oil on her ..... I better stop telling you about Margaret, or you'll want her too ...

Though, like my Ex-Wife, sometimes she makes a LOT of noise.

Margaret? Margaret? Oh, man, reminds me of the nuns I had in Catholic school (Sister Mary Margaret, Sister Margaret Mary). As long as you were gonna name her, what about something sexy, like, I don't know...Brigitte, Tammy, Becky, Sara....

Great post. LMAO.

Nope, I don't name my guns but I have a friend that refers to the Surefire Responder forearm on my home defense shotgun (an 1100 Remington that's set up almost identically to the 1187 K-9 model that Scattergun Technologies sells) as the 'God Light' because when I first showed it to him, I did it in an unlit interior room that it lit up better than the ceiling fixture with 2 100 watt light bulbs. A 90 lumen flashlight is a weapon unto itself in a low light situation and I do prefer my shooting to be accurate.
