we drive 4 wheeled 4,000 lbs bullets yet people are scared of holstered handguns

Your "45ACP pistol" is not designed to kill humans. It is designed to take in .45 caliber bullets and discharge them at a high velocity, eject the spent casing, and prepare another .45 caliber bullet for discharge upon the operator pulling the trigger.

How you decide to use that capability is your choice. Likewise for your other guns.
Are you sure? After hearing that is was designed to kill humans, I was going to return mine as defective because it hasn't killed anybody or anything yet.

You should find a better boogieman than the left wing. There is anti-gun in both wings.

I agree there are anti gun people on the right as well as the left. The majority of the out spoken anti-gun crowd is on the left and want to ban them for everyone. The anti-gun crowd on the right don't care to own them but don't care if I or any other law abiding citizen owns them.

My Glock hasnt killed anybody yet either, and after hearing the genius on the forum say that his gun was designed to kill humans, it makes me think mine must be defective because I use it all the time but never to kill people.

The answer is easy. A firearms put POWER into your HAND. A car or truck give you far more perceived power then real power thus nut bag drivers who THINK there car makes them invincible. Very simply there ar many people out there who FEAR power that is not theirs or power in the hands of those they think of as enemies. The left thinks all those who would make a society where the government controls all is good and thus having such power in the hands of the people is dangerous. If we look back and READ what the founding fathers wrote we quickly see this is EXACTLY why they gave us the second. Number one is the freedom of speech and number 2 ensures we KEEP that right along with all the others. The papers of those who signed the founding documents made it very clear that the PEOPLE where in charge and if at any time the GOVERNMENT got out of hand we where to throw them out and start over. The problem with the Left is they see the government as there parent there to care for them not to represent them.

More people die as a result of being hit by a car than by getting shot. But nobody likes to think about that fact
Possibly, to the anti-gun crowd, you're not as dead if you get hit by a car?

Yeah, I know. I'm just searching for their logic...

we drive around in 4 wheeled 4,000 lbs bullets all day & night kids running out in front of you in a mall parking lot , people texting while driving these bullets & yet some people are scared of holstered handguns whether open or concealed.

hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Here's a scary thought. Johnny is angry. Angry at the world for his lousy life. Johnny is also nuts. He's so nuts he can't get a gun. Cause Johnny is on the federal nutjob list. And most guns have now been banned by the new O administration anyway. But Johnny has a drivers license. And he has an idea. He rents a Ford Excursion from the local Avis and drives on over to the campus. The campus where people laugh at him and teachers don't understand him. There's 30,000 full-time students on that campus. He waits until the 15 minute break between classes and points his 4,000 pound weapon toward the college green. The headlines read "84 Mowed Down by Lunatic at State University!" The liberal pundits ask "what made Johnny do this?" "Was it the rap music? Video games? Violence on TV? Should we ban these things?" Nahhh. Johnny was nuts, remember? What happened to being nuts, that's no longer an option? One can never stop insane people from doing insane things by passing insane laws. It's Insane!!!!

Um... I think your underestimating the weight. My F350 weighs 7500 pounds....

Wait till someone breaks into their home. Pretty hard to drive your car into them then. Get a good firearm.

What REALLY gets me are those people that are only afraid of the guns that they can see. So long as you keep your shirt over it, their fear goes away. Some of those people are even members of gun forums like this!

My mother in-law thinks that her daughter getting her CC permit (the only way we can carry in AR) is "just foolish!"

I said, Don't you read the paper and watch TV news? She said yes.

Have you seen all the crime against people who are just minding their own business?

She said yes.

I said, Whats foolish is not being prepared to protect yourself. There isn't a cop around when we need one.

She said, But guns make me nervous.

I can see that, but criminals make me nervous.

They have guns illegally, I have mine legally. I'll use mine to protect your daughter and me and when your around I'll protect you too.

Are you afraid of my gun? No, I can't see yours. I said that's right and you won't see theirs until they pull them on you. That's when you'll see mine!

She stills thinks it's foolish, but for some people out of sight is out of mind....

Many people are afraid of guns. They are also afraid of people who get carried away talking about owning shotguns for the home and having ten handguns and buying AR-15's and shooting thousands of rounds every week. Even if these people are law-abiding gun owners it is scary to many.

Smart gun owners own maybe two or three good pistols and practice so they are familiar with them. They may use these for both carry and home defense. They don't talk about owning guns as if it is some great gift from the Gods of Mount Olympus they simply take care of their guns so that the guns will take care of them. Of course they promote guns to others, but only if they see a real oppurtunity, and when they do talk to someone new about owning a gun they do it in a logical and controlled manner, not just try to shove a gun in someones hand.

In other words if you truly want to promote owning guns to someone use your head and do it right so they don't just think you are some nut who is in love with guns and shooting. Let them see there is a good reason to carry and have a home defense gun which could save lives. Never force it on people.

Here's a good answer for her... guns don't MAKE her nervous. She chooses to BE nervous.

Would you say the same thing about someone who owns coins? They should only collect maybe two or three good ones? Or what about stamps? Jewelry? Art? Cars?

I'm glad that you are here to tell was what a smart gun owner is. :dirol: If someone has a collection of 100 coins, people say, "Nice collection!" There is no difference between collecting coins and collecting guns.
