Bravo
Mid June 2011 I purchased a Walther PPQ in 9mm from my local store.
Aside from my frustrating holster quest, I have some good impressions of this model.
As of Northeast Storm October 2011, I've put approximately 1000 rounds though. Ammo has been a mixture of Georgia Arms loaded ammo, Winchester white box, UMC bulk pack and some Gold Dot LE Duty hollow points. Most ammo runs were 115 grain ball except a few mags of Gold Dot.
Reliability: No malfunctions whatsoever.
I've done some basic drills, majority being two handed standing target positions. Around 1/4 of these rounds were single strong and weak hand drills, single and double tap. Around 10 mag dumps as fast as I can (ammo waster)
I usually do a cursory cleaning after each range visit, but I've gone 2 trips without a cleaning in between. I oil and then dry it off with clean cloths, in effect running it dry. I never carry a wet gun and that's my personal preference.
This is by no means a torture or accuracy test, and my main goal for training is to influence my bad eyes to hit something (anything!) consistently.
What I like so far:
The trigger, crisp and consistent
The sights
The grip, fits my hand well with the smaller back strap
No malfunctions, with the cheap not so hot ammo
The price is a bit high, but will no doubt come down
What I don't like:
Too new for in depth holster info and options
No DA option for carry
Walther mag release (you either love it or hate it). It doesn't bother me much, but it's operation is too darn much like a trigger pull and in the general trigger area. With gloves on or an adrenaline dump, I fear an accidental trigger pull.
Bravo
