Walther p22 purchased

Update on finding the wife a gun she would like to practice with and take her class with. I made the choice and bought her a Walther P22 and i have got to say even after hearing bad things about these little shooters this is truly a nice little gun. I took it to the range and fired over 300 rounds in it and had no issues what so ever out of it. Not a big fan of small 22s but now i want one to go with my collection of Fire Arms. Thanks everyone for giving me advice and helping me to decide. I think the wife will be very very pleased. Stay safe everyone and God Bless.

Just sharing a few he he

I wish I could have had that luck..

Purchased a p22 last July, took it out, would not cycle (failure to feed). Didn't matter what ammo ( cci stingers or mini mag), Remington (horrible to bring with), Winchester, federal.

What was nice was that Smith and Wesson paid for first class shipping to and from the warehouse where they replaced the slide.

Now it's about 50/50 chance I can get through a while magazine without a failure to feed...sending it back again. Not even 500 rounds through it and its going to be sent back twice...

I recently purchased an issc mk 22 (scar 16 clone) which has been awesome right out of the box.

Wow! Talk about a lemon! Mine is reliable if you use CCI Velocitors, stingers and Minimags, or Remington thunderbolts. Absolutely amazing accuracy with the stingers. For some reason, I have only had stovepipes with the Minimags. Don't know what to make of it besides dumb luck.

I like my P22 but putting it back together with that darn spring takes me forever. I hate to shoot it for that reason. Any tips?

I have two P22..the standard and the target. Never had a FTF or FTE on either one. The target is a PIA to clean with having to remove the barrel weight for tear down. :) Doesn't stop me from shooting it though!

Now i have put 1000 rounds in it. Not one problem out of 1000 rounds people. The old lady is very pleased with the P22 I got her. She has already named it Pete. The ammo i used was all Mini-Mag 22 LR 40 Grain Flawless !!!

Very jealous...I have the walther g22 to compliment it, I really want it to work so I'm probably going to just keep sending it back till they get it right.

Use the little black rod that came with the barrel wrench. Stick the pointy end through the guide rod hole and put the slide back on. It's pretty easy after you get some practice. I personally clean all my guns immediately after firing, so I got pretty good at takedown quickly with the p22.

Pete? Lol. I thought i was the only one who did that.

Thanks. It needs cleaned so I'll try that.

Just thought i would share some info. Over the years i have heard good and bad things about the little Walther P22s. I must say after putting over 5000 rounds at the range this morning. I was really impressed with this little Fire Arm. Out of 5000 rounds only had one that did not feed into the chamber. As i thought will be a perfect gun for the wife to get use to by all means and to get her Carry Permit with. I highly recommend this little gun as a beginner and for targeting and for small game. The Walther P22 gets a 9 out of 10 in my book !

I know exactly what you meen, when we bought our P-22, and my wife took her permit test with, we had not had it long, had maybe 150 rds through it, and she had a terrible time, between her and the instructor they spent more time unjamming it than she did shooting, still she liked the little gun, personaly I would have hung it on the target carrier and shot at it....we decided to keep it so our grandaughter could shoot it when she got started, so over the next year or so, we would shoot it periodicly, had 1500-2000 rds through it and as long as you kept CCI in it it seemed to be ok, but i never would trust it as any type of carry weapon, then when my grandaughter started shooting, she shot a couple of mags in the P-22, and that was enough of that, she wanted grandpa's 45, so she started shooting my fullsize Springfield 1911, now two years later she shoots everthing I have rifles and handguns including my S&W 500 mag, and the walther was traded soon after that first range session

Yikes ITCH! 5000 rounds this morning. That would hurt my feelings as hard as it is to find 22 ammo right now

My wife got one last year and I like it so much I want one. Shoots great and cant say enough good aabout it. To bad others have not had the same experience
