Walmart Bars Sales Of AR-15s, Self-Defense Shotguns
Link Removed

"Walmart has instituted a new corporate policy that bars its stores from selling semi-automatic AR-15-style rifles and semi-automatic shotguns that have a magazine capacity of seven shots or more. The chain denies politics played a role in the decision."

Walmart's limited, PC interpretation of the U.S. Constitution's Second Amendment is "interesting" ... So, according to Walmart, hunting and sport shooting weapons sales are OK, but not home/self-defense weapons sales? What's with that?

Fortunately, we still have the internet and other weapons vendors to choose from. Yes, we have legal "options."

Is this a great country, or what?

"The strongest reason for people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." - Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334 (C.J.Boyd, Ed., 1950)

I don't know about other states, but the only kind of guns I've seen in Walmart stores in my city are bb guns and sometimes a pellet gun. Have to go to other stores for anything more powerful.

Well then, your pocketbook should be more full at the end of the day. Anymore, I just buy personal essentials, as they (walmart) are not competitive. This PC crap within Walmart has been going on for quite some time. Coming to a head as they are in the same bed as D.C. politicians.

I consider them traitors to the U.S., for their recent forays into human rights violations, and sucking-up to the global elite, allowing their stores to be retrofitted. The military has had and used WM's computers for years.

Not surprising. Shop elsewhere, unless you have to buy WM goods made with Chinese labor, including kids, because of financial difficulty. My buying has halved there. I hope to have that figure at 100 percent soon.

Time for their workers and investors to wake-up and take off those rose colored glasses.

Anything I need will be purchased online.

I know from our home office communications that sales had slumped tremendously in the last year. I can tell you that most of the Sport Rifle inventory that we had at my store was at least a year old. And that rifle sales in general were down over the previous year. It doesn't suprise me that they dropped the higher price points and are shifting more to the moderate to low price points. I think now our two highest priced rifles are the Mini 14 and the 700. I jumped on the Bushmaster when it went clearance. Put it on layaway for my birthday, anniversary and Christmas present.

I realized Walmart's unspoken view on the 2A the day I realized Walmart doesn't sell handguns.

...or at least not any Walmart I've ever seen.

Only stores in Alaska sell handguns. They used to until some incidents happened (don't know all the details) and the compliance on handguns is a lot more complicated than long guns. Those stores are required to remove the firing pins and all handguns are special order only.

If that's how Walmart feels, then fine. They aren't going to get anymore free protection from this Wild Dog.

I purchased both my long guns from them. I wonder if they will take them back? BWAHAAHAA!

The Bentonville, AR Walmart suffered the worst inventory in the history of walmart; when you let customers rob you blind, it shows.

Asset Protection and Walmart. This is an oxymoron.

They are going to let people greeters back into the fray, to try and get losses under control. They've also toyed with the idea with checking receipts to goods at the doors, like Sam's Club.

The "Asset Protection" manager at the above mentioned store transferred to the Home Office, because these losses looked bad on him. It was not his fault.

Stores are understaffed with part time teenagers/adults who have no benefits, as Walmart isn't required to pay them for part timers.

I'll make one more ammo purchase from them, discounted, and then just the absolute necessities will see the inside of a cart.

Oh! Their "always low prices" mantra is also a joke. Take the time to shop around for perishable items and general merchandise, and you will see they are not the low price leader.

They have been giving customers discounts on merchandise when they just SAY they saw the item at another retailer for this much. No proof required. This practice is being canned, if not already.

Walmart's identity crisis (they've tried to be like every other retailer on the planet) haunts them, as does their huge inventory reduction years ago. They've been trying to woo shoppers back when this blew-up in their face.

Their "PC" push is totally opposite of what the founding family envisioned and started.

Time to start shopping at mom and pop stores locally, and hopefully they may stay in business. It's the patriotic American thing to do, since WM sold-out to our corrupt government.

In Delaware Walmart only sells pellet guns, BB guns, and Black powder guns. No rifles or shotguns, yet they sell ammo. Go figure.

Alas, without your watchful eye and lightning fast draw to protect their aisles from the evildoers, Walmart is truly doomed. And... if there is no hope for Walmart, can Kmart be far behind ? :help:

Our local WalMart stores are still selling those horrible black rifles that so many spineless people are afraid of. I haven't found them not offering a fairly good selection of weapons, with the exception of handguns. In addition to WalMart, we have an Academy Sports and Gander Mountain store with a good selection of weapons, ammo, etc. I prefer Academy Sports because they do have good sales quite frequently and, on the whole, their prices on guns are much cheaper than the competition. I bought a 9mm Sig at Academy Sports which was over $100 cheaper than an identical one at Gander Mountain. I like deals where I get to keep some of my money for other things.

Howdy,

It's been 10 years since I bought a gun at ChinaMart ( Rem 700 ADL .30-06 closeout for $250.00 NIB ) and I do NOT plan to buy one from them any time soon.

Now, if I only had a place to shop for other things.............

The P.C. facade and sleeping with the U.S. Government has turned me away from this retailer. There are many others to buy from.

Last time I checked the 2nd Amendment had absolutely nothing to do with what stores decide which products to sell or not sell. Heck, "sell" isn't even mentioned in the 2nd Amendment. WalMart still allows customers to "keep" and "bear" arms the last time I checked - if the 2nd Amendment even applied at all to Wal Mart.

How many retailers refuse to get a Type 03 FFL so they can sell full automatic firearms? Does that mean they are anti 2nd-Amendment because they limit themselves to semi-automatic firearms?

Point taken, LCDR.

Fortunately (for me), I don't have to shop at Walmart (for firearms, ammo or anything) ... or support any politician who favors hunting and sport shooting ... only.
