Walmart ammo now not searchable

Interesting development... Walmart.com now no longer has ammunition in their search results. Used to be that you could check stock, and even elect to receive an email when whatever you were looking for was logged into the store's inventory. A salesman told me yesterday that ammo is seemingly coming in at the same rate as before, just not staying on the shelves. If reports are true, and Walmart is not ordering any more, then I wonder how long before the distribution centers will run dry.

I was at my local walmart a couple days ago. They didn't have much on the shelf so I asked how often the trucks were coming in and the lady told me everyday but that it was selling as fast as they get it in. I asked her if they were going to stop selling ammo and she said there was no plan to.

I'm betting the government is holding a gun to their head and telling them to clear out what they have and get out of the business.

Cabelas has been like that for a month and keeps getting worse. People backordered things so far all mags and ammo have been taking off their site

GunBot 223 5.56 Ammo In Stock This site checks a whole bunch of ammo sites and updates ever 90 seconds. Check the ammo you want, select the box for "in stock only", and leave it up and keep checking. I have seen great deals ever day for weeks. You have to jump on them REALLY fast though.. I bought twice and was rejected a couple times. Sometimes the sites run out of ammo within minutes. So keep your CC next to your comp and type quickly. It highlights low priced items in red for you, which is nice. Also if you are rushing it is easy to buy the wrong ammo.. so be mindful.

I have seen mini mags pop up.. RGB's.. everything. Ammo is out there. I notice it is best to look around what you would consider "delivery times". Like 10am , noon, 1pm.

It is just a matter of time and walmart will not be offering any kind of Ammo any longer. Watch and see. Both of them here have 30-06 and that is it. Look at it this way you can still use it for home defense if need be ha ha

Just went to walmartdotcom and I can still see ammo and check store availability.

Guns... check. Scopes and other accessories... check. Ammo, nope. Used to search Federal and Winchester and could see all their ammo (out of stocm or limited availability, of course) and check store availability, etc. Can't see anything now.

If I go through their menu system, Sports & Outdoors --> Hunting --> Ammo, I get two options: Remington 12-gauge game load and Remington 20-gauge game load. Both with links to check store availability. That's it.

Two members of my family are upper level management for the distribution centers for WalMart overseeing the south east united states. They told me walmart did not stop ordering or shipping out ammo to the stores. They are having trouble getting it from suppliers and are shipping it out as fast as they get it.

I don't see Wally's doing away with ammo. The one by me just started selling guns again, after a stopping a couple years ago.

I haven't seen the ammo I wanted at my local Wal-Mart for quite some time, then I finally found some last Friday night. I spoke to a clerk who told me that it comes in regularly, and that they stock it between 7 - 8 PM. The night I was there, they had .223 & 5.56; so I picked some up. I asked about 9mm, and was told that it had come in two nights earlier, and the regular crowd bought it all. It looks like I'll have to become part of the evening ammo shoppers.

I got CCI mini mags at ****'s on Friday but I know it is almost impossible to get them without paying shipping charges. You can basically get any ammo you want, plus shipping charges, by being vigilant and watching the ammo websites. The thing is.. they sell out in minutes from posting their stock. There are websites made that scan every ammo site . remove the spaces but look at www . gunbot.net You choose the ammo, it updates every 90 seconds... BOOm.. done. I bought a few times from it. I tried posting this earlier but got blocked because of the link I think so I am posting again because I know time is an issue with most folks. Good luck! My tip is to look often during "common delivery times". 9, 10, 11am, 2, 3 PM.

I went to my local Walmart and found they did have some ammo after being out for a while. They didn't have any 9mm so I got two boxes of 40s. Going to hold on to it for a while. Its been so long since I've been to the range. Waiting for things to get back to normal!!

I have a friend that runs that dept., he lets me know when a shipment is coming in. I picked up 2 boxes of WWB 9mm 100 round and 4 boxes of 22LR. 3 boxes each with my wife. Store limit. :dance3:

Absoulutely NO ONE I have discussed this with is convinvnced that the feds don't have their hands in this ammo shortage some way shape or form. Ammo is trickling out to the civilians in spurts strategically is what my friends are saying. Get what you can and save it. The Storm is yet to come.

Every Thursday morning, Gander Mtn in my neck of the woods restocks their shelves. Decent selection of all calibers. The government must be letting this ammo slide thru as to confuse us...
