This was sent to me today by one of my old commanders. I had never seen this before and thought others might be interested.

Vietnam Wall
Link Removed

First click on a state.

When it opens, scroll down to the city and the names will appear.
Then click on their names.

It should show you a picture of the person, or at least their bio and medals.
This really is an amazing web site.

Someone spent a lot of time and effort to create it.
I hope that everyone who receives this appreciates what those who served in Vietnam sacrificed for our country.
The link below is a virtual wall of all those lost during the Vietnam war with the names, bio's and other information on our lost heroes.

Those who remember that time frame, or perhaps lost friends or family can look
them up on this site.
Pass the link on to others, as many knew wonderful people whose names are listed.

Thanks Grunt, marvelous link. My prayers go out daily for those that have given so much. As well as their families that have sacrificed the loss. My Flag flies 24/7 out of respect for all that have given.

Great info. Although I am not a Viet Nam vet, I had one obsevation when I went to the wall. I always thought it would have been more meaningful (to me anyway) if the monument started with the first man to lose his life and ended with the last man to lose his life. Again this is coming from someone that did not have a "dog in the hunt" just my thoughts.

Been there many times when in D.C. Thanks for link. I arrived just after people quit putting memorabilia in the channel at the base of the wall. It got too much overflow, and was removed. Took several pencil transfers of names of fallen acquaintances.

A reverent, somber place. There is presence there you can't explain.

Anyone visitiing the D.C. mall; this is a must-see, along with the changing of the guard at Arlington Cemetery. Another profound presence is felt there also.

It didn't diminish any time we visited. Another monument to take-in is the memorial for Navy veterans lost at sea. I don't remember where that was, possibly the Naval Academy. Have slept since then.

If anyone is planning to go (you have to, just once), stay at least a week or more if you can. There is so much to see and take-in, it is truly incredible. Lots of our tax dollars at work there, but it is a historical ride from our country's violent beginning to present day.

Sorry, I'll shut-up now.

Haven't been to the wall in DC, but I have been to the traveling wall that is moved around the country.

Yea, know a couple on there :frown:

I made my visit in 2009,brought tears to my eyes, for i know a few Marines on the Vietnam Veteran Memorial Wall,I served with in Nam. R.I.P.Marines! Sempef Fi.

Pensacola has the Wall South. So for those of you that can not get to DC or don't care to go to DC, you can see a replica. I go to see my cousin. He left us November 8, 1966. The Wall South was brought about because of the traveling Wall.
