The group dropped off their dead friend at a hotel in Orange County. Authorities say the dead suspect has been identified and has a lengthy criminal history.
What's this? How can this be? according to B2tall Florida has great gun laws and that keeps criminals from getting firearms. Because if the police catch them with a firearm, they could be sent away for years. Looks like the laws failed, how can this be? Oh wait I know they are Criminals and as such don't follow those "strong gun laws".
You are spot on. The criminal doesn't care because the penalty for these violations are not enforced. I would like to see the number of felons convicted of gun possession. They are supposed to get 10 years. I read numerous reports of these cases and never see someone getting the full 10 years. Usually the charges are dropped.
If my memory serves me right can't the other perps be charged with murder due to the death of their accomplice? I know in some states if someone dies in the commission of a felony,(including one of the criminals committing the crime) all of the perps involved can be charged with first degree murder.
An armed robber fleeing is still a danger since he can turn and shoot as he flees.
There is plenty of precedent for shooting fleeing criminals who are both armed and dangerous!
Lets see how this plays out.

In NC a Security Officer has no authority on a city street, or any other place not owned by the Client. If this would have happened here this SO would be in deep Kemshi, his only duty is to Detect, Observe, & Report, I know 1st hand because I'm a retired Armed CPO for an international major contract security company. The 1st thing the LEO's would do is take both his weapon and his state armed security officer license. The 2nd thing that would happen is the Officer would be placed on administrative leave of absence w/o pay (of course!), and his armed qualifying certification would be confiscated by the DA's office. 3rd comes the court hearing... No! This guy better hire the best Lawyer he can afford...![]()
