Victory for OC in Castle Rock, CO

Some crazy anti-open carry proposed laws were not passed in Castle Rock, CO (it would have included trails and open space areas... no hiking while open carrying!). It's not over yet, but so far, so good! Every citizen who showed up to speak was in favor of open carry.

Plus, as a bonus... a link to a blog with a review of the proceedings and the speech he gave at the hearing... keeping in mind he is not a fan of OC at all! I thought he did pretty good. :smile:

Actually, I think this was not really even about open carrying - it was about liberty. We're doing our best to keep Colorado in the loop with this stuff on our facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/CarryOnColorado

I spent a summer working in the Salida/Buena Vista area in 2010. While shopping at the Salida WalMart, I noticed an older guy open carrying his S&W 39. The locals didn't seem at all bothered but the obvious tourists parted like Moses parting the sea. They recoiled and skittered away like the old guy had fur, claws and fangs.
I don't think the rural areas of CO are nearly as anti-gun as the metro areas who seem to have the voting clout. Same as here in MO.
