Women Shot by LAPD During Dorner Manhunt Get Hefty Payout

The mother and daughter newspaper carriers injured when police mistakenly fired on them during the manhunt for ex-cop Link Removed would receive $4.2 million under a settlement announced by city officials.
The LAPD has from the beginning described the incident as a tragic mistake by officers. Chief Charlie Beck met with the women a few days after the shooting to personally apologize and launched an investigation into the officers’ conducts, which is still ongoing. As of Tuesday, the eight officers involved remain off patrol duties.
There is not a single word in the piece that alludes to the possibility of criminal charges being brought against any of those eight trigger-happy fools. Remember, Dorner was said to be in a gray Nissan Titan, while these women were in a bright blue Toyota Tundra. There were no orders for them to stop, no warnings of any kind, they were throwing papers and eight LEOs just opened fire on them from the rear. Y'all have seen the pictures. The truck was riddled with bullet holes, as were the trees, roofs, exterior walls and some furniture inside the houses on the block. It is a freakin' miracle that no one died at the hands of these crazed maniacs, but so far, they've not even been so much as suspended, they've just been taken off the streets. And from the sound of it, they'll be back on the streets as soon as they finish sweeping the other free-fire attack on the Surfer-Boy in the black Honda pickup under the rug:
“Hopefully this will put an end to the Dorner saga once and for all,” Trutanich said.
There ya go. That's what passes for "justice" in the City of Angels. Anyone want to take a bet that those eight cops will be back to "protecting and serving" before the year is out?
So now we're done with coast-to-coast tests of how The People will react to violently-imposed tyranny on the streets. The plain fact is, they didn't react at all, except to submit to illegal searches, allow their communities to be turned into Soviet-style check points where Officer Friendly looks more like an SS Storm-Trooper and instead of greeting those he's "protecting" with, "How may I serve you today," it's, "Show me your papers."
As of earlier this evening there were still people on this 2nd Amendment-oriented website who defend such thuggish tyranny. I'm sure one or two of them will be here to rag on me in 5...4...3...2...
