No discounts to offer, just heartfelt gratitude to our military personnel and their families from all generations for their service and sacrifices this Memorial Day, 2013.

And a special thought and prayer for all those with whom our government broke faith - from Ap Bac (Vietnam) to Benghazi.

Yesterday was the day to remember the fallen. I won't dilute it as there are other days for the rest.

Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Fallen and paid the ultimate price

Veterans Day is an official United States holiday which honors people who have served in armed service also known as veterans. Past service.

In the United States, Armed Forces Day is celebrated on the third Saturday in May. It falls near the end of Armed Forces Week, which begins on the second Saturday of May and ends on the third Sunday of May. It honors Americans serving in the five U.S. military branches. Currently serving.

Thank you so very much for straightening me out on that one. Now go away.

LOL too many young people get the holidays confused. This day was for the people that bought our freedom and many foreigners freedom with their lives. Who else but Jesus Christ would do that. They deserve a day to themselves.

I'm 48, a former federal officer myself who was injured in the line of duty and forced to retire without receiving any of the benefits promised to me and my family by my government as a result. Hardly a naive, misinformed young person. I am fully aware that Memorial Day is specifically for those who died, that Veteran's Day is for those who completed their service and that Armed Forces Day is for those who currently serve. If I want to recognize ALL veterans on these days, I will do so without seeking your approval or guidance first - and I do not consider it "watering down" or "diminishing" those days any more than when I celebrate Christmas by also remembering the death and resurrection of Jesus.

So while I am sure that you mean well, as I said before - go away. When I want your approval or guidance, I will seek you out and ask for it.

Don't hold your breath.

OK tuff guy LMAO

I am an older veteran and did the rifle salute with my American Legion post, haven't done it in a long time. I know what Memorial Day is, but, I always say thanks to the older veteran, and they always reciprocate, kind of like a bond that you don't think about. My opinion say thanks to all current and future vets, and say a prayer for the ones that have past on.

Those that have given the ultimate, my prayers will always be with you and your family. Those that have served and survived, I offer a grateful thanks and respect for the service you have given and the unknown sacrifice NO CIVILIAN would ever understand. As for current active duty (too include puddle jumpers) My prayers to a safe enlistment/commission and may God be with you and your commanders to ensure God inspired Leadership.

I told you before that it's "puddle pirates"! and thank you.

We are also referred to as "Water Nazi's" I think it has to do with the law enforcement part of our job.
You're also known as shallow water sailors. Question is, do you meet the 6' height requirement so you can walk to shore?

Thanks to all of you who have served our country. I was in the Army from 69-76 in Korea and Germany, but did miss being assigned to Vietnam. I still received bad treatment by citizens who were mislead. I hope we can continue to maintain a positive appreciation for people who sacrifice to keep us safe and free. My heart-felt gratitude to you all.
