VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A robbery suspect was killed early Saturday morning when the man he was trying to rob, pulled out a gun and shot him.

Police say a man was walking in the 900 block of Virginia Beach Blvd. near the Virginia Beach Convention center around 4 a.m. when he was approached by another man who tried to rob him. The robbery suspect attacked the man who pulled out a gun and shot the suspect.

The suspect died from the gunshot wound, according to a police spokesperson.

No charges have been filed against the robbery victim and the incident remains under investigation.

The suspect's name has not been released.

I'm hoping this wasn't a caucasian inflicted related incident. If it was a justifiable shoot, then 1 for the good guys!

i work(service electrician) sometimes at a hotel in the same parking lot as the Convention center and i see the type of people that walk(bike) from neighborhood to the oceanfront.it could be any type of person. hampton roads seems famous for rich neighborhoods right next to complexes.ghent section of norfolk seems to come to mind.richy types walking poodles down their street and go over few blocks and i dont like even getting out of my service truck.(seems like someone always walking just behind you and you lean into truck).
va beach answer seems to be to buy up farmland and build more subdivisions and keep moving south till they end up in north carolina.
