Good Morning,
Before I write anything I am deeply sorry for anyone in the past, present, or future who has or will lose someone dear to them. I do not mean to be insensitive to anyone but merely want to be logical about our current situation regarding gun control. One side believes allowing more guns will help reduce or even prevent gun crime. The other side believes putting limits on guns is the way to go. In my opinion only law abiding citizens follow the laws so regardless of what happens the criminals will do what they have always been doing...Breaking the Law.
I propose a somewhat insensitive idea that would bring measurable data in a simulation environment to see which side is BETTER for humanity. Regardless of my beliefs that we should be able to protect ourselves and our families without any limitations as per our Constitutional rights I feel the only way to shut everyone up is to run these tests.
Here is the idea.
There should be a simulation program that has two teams (Good team vs Bad Team) and shows two paths. For instance.
Scenario 1
Setting is in a SCHOOL
Instead of having students put something else there to shoot, such as Bulls eyes or balloons.
There will be four people on the good team unarmed and one guy on the bad team armed.
The good people have to stop the bad guy before he shoots the targets.
Put a five minute time limit on the simulation because that's how long it takes the police to arrive to "save the day" and we all know how much damage can be done in 30 seconds.
Scenario 2
Setting is in a SCHOOL
Have four people on the good team and randomly give one a gun
Have one guy on the bad team
Good guys have five minutes to stop the bad guy
Scenario 3
Setting is in a SCHOOL
Have four people on the good team with no guns
Have one guy on the bad team
Give him a gun that would not be on the banned list and run the scenario.
Have these three scenarios occur randomly so when you try to play the simulation you dont know if you will be on the good team or the bad team or know who's going to be armed with what, this would make it unpredictable and realistic. The data gathered from such a simulation would easily be able to lead our country in the best direction for the people.
The same type of simulation could be modified to all of the past shootings that have occured so we could see what possible outcomes could have occurred and if adding or banning guns would be the best choice.
I am not a simulation programmer, I am just proposing the idea. Maybe someone could start a fund on Kickstarter and then pay programmers to make this a reality. We would have to make this simulation available to everyone so the more people play the more data we can gather to show which way saved more lives and stopped the situation sooner.
BENEFITS IN MY OPINION of this simulation would do many things
1) It would be all over the news and show that the NRA is not crazy as the news is making them out to be
2) It would show that guns are not the cause of the problem but part of a solution
3) It would shut everyone who is trying to ban guys up because we would have hundreds if not thousands of simulation data to show concrete evidence.
I am sorry for the long post but felt that I needed to put this out. I am damned sure I am not the only one to think this up however I haven't read it anywhere else.
Pisses me off how the news refuses to talk about how the stabbing in china hurt all those children, how that teen set his school mate on fire with alcohol, how the unibomber used fertilizer etc etc.
Those people who write up the laws for the rest of us to follow should be following the same damn rules also, it's not fair. Rosie Odonnel terminated her contract with a big retail chain because they sold guns and she was against it, but at the same time she has ARMED body guards protecting her and her family when they are about. DOUBLE STANDARD BULLCRAP!
