USA Carry Riding out Hurricane Isaac

My wife and I live in New Orleans and decided to ride this one out. I'm on a second floor level so water shouldn't be an issue. I also wanted to tell anyone else down here to be safe!

Yea, I'm pretty sure we'll get water here and have power issues. I've got a lot of supplies, full propane tanks and charcoal for the pits. I just finished tying up my patio furniture and now just trying to get in some work before the "stuff" hits the fan.

The main issue is going to be preserving your vehicles, and getting them to high ground, so that they don't flood.

A tall parking garage may work well. As long as the structure holds up, then the vehicles should be fine up there.

But you need to get the vehicles to someplace at a safe hight for them.

Best of luck to you, riding out the storm.

Have family in Mobile and NO, saying a little prayer and passing the ammunition in case of the same thugs come out again.

Take care , brother...we here in Tampa dodged this one.

Yup, we sure did. I thought that when it started to head toward Louisiana that it would build to at least a Cat 3 storm because of the 85-86 degree waters. Glad to see that as bad as it is now, (watching the weather reports right now) that it won't get much beyond a Cat 1.

Good luck and we're all hoping for the best for y'all.

high and dry to you sir and all up there.......a bedroom in the duplex here got flooded but we cleaned it out and hope it don't start molding behind the wall now?? time will tell hopefully they will dry out ok.....the waters receded here just swept the driveway off today and hoping the sun shines for a while now
best wishes up there

All ok over here other than not having power for 37 hours. Hopefully we'll get it back today or tomorrow.
