Finally my CCW has arrived in the mail yesterday...Didn't think i would get since i had a felony on my record 4 months ago that got expunged..But it did...Now guessing i got to pick a gun since i really haven't shot a gun to much not sure what gun or where to get it..Lot of researching to do...any help is much appreciated...

Get one that feels most comfortable to you don't go get that big 1911 everyone is talking about just because it's the it gun take your time find a gun that feels right to you good job on the ccw congrads

I agree, get was feels right. Best advise i got is get what you will carry everyday, that is unless you are better then the rest of us on knowing what day you will need it. Be safe and research research and then research some more. Be safe, and good luck

If you can afford to go to a range that rents guns...try a few out. Read reviews and if you have to save a little longer so that you dont settle on price...do it. My wife thought about being thrifty and I was pushing her to get a carry gun and she picked up a Sigma after we talked about a LC9. The trigger on the Sigma leaves a lot to be desired in my book...otherwise its pretty much a glock clone. The principle behind the trigger is the same but the action makes me jerk her gun about every third round. I carry a glock and like it a lot...but choose for yourself!

Just my own observation, I own a couple of Sigma's and a couple of Glocks. To me the Sigma's are real beasts to shoot when compared to the Glocks. They just feel heavier and it feels like your taking a pounding when you shoot a lot.

Thanks guys...I am getting ready so when the gun range opens gonna go see whats out there...Still got a lot of stuff to learn dont want to carry this gun until i learn the laws...I live here in Mississippi and you dont got to do no kind of class..I disagree ....So here i am with a gun permit and no experience getting ready to go get a gun...Well the good thing is i do got common sense and will learn the laws before i carry it on my side...Will have it in my truck until i find where im gonna carry it and what carrying case im gonna get...As far as the gun goes im gonna buy one that i like today ( im sure everyone buys a couple guns before they decide this is what there gonna carry) so i am going to the gun range find one that handles nice fits my hand and trigger is right then get it...I do hear a lot about the sig 1911 i think 227 or 228 then people talk about glocks then i hear 40, 45's not sure lol But i do know 1 thing wife dont know i got permit or getting a gun and got to keep it a secret as long as i can ..lol Thanks

Respectfully, I recommend your next investment be an NRA basic course from a qualified instructor. It will most likely be some of the best money you will spend. You might be able to locate and contact a competant instructor right here on USACarry. Just work on getting familiar with all the parts your weapon and proper maintenace until you get through the course. There really is a lot to learn before you can competantly and safely carry a weapon to defend yourself and others. I am not trying to be insulting. Col. Jeff Cooper said "you are no more armed because you own a weapon than you are a musician because you own a piano" or something to close to that.

The basic NRA course is a great idea but it realy did'nt do much for me. The one I toook to get my CCW was maybe 4 hours long and realy did'nt teach much.
Even all of the people I know said the same thing. Luckily for me I have grown up up around guns and was tought the proper way to respect them. Someone who has no knowlege of guns should take a advanced course and spend as much time as they can at the range.

Got it the other day forgot to post lol so total time took two weeks from day of applied to the day got in my mail.... Wasn't too long.... Also applied on 2-28 approved on 2-28
