Report: Undercover NYPD officer arrested for participating in SUV attack

An undercover police officer was arrested Tuesday after allegedly lying to police about his involvement in the Sept. 29 motorcycle mob and subsequent attack of an SUV driver in New York City.

Remember, you don't need a gun; the police will "protect" you...

Exactly. In fact it is not well known but Police DO NOT HAVE TO RESPOND when called. They're job is to serve and protect the "General" public, not you personally. I ran into this when they refused to respond to my house when someone broke into my truck several years ago. The Sergent pointed that out to me and I looked it up and even called a lawyer to see if it were true.

Right. Like I said, I don't have much against the cops around here, but I sure wouldn't depend on them to protect me either. I live 10 miles from a very tiny police department. You know they saying, "When seconds count, the police are only minutes away." And in this case, probably 20 to 30 minutes away. My point though is, that maybe you don't trust them to protect you, but there's also the case that you just plain can't wait for them to reach you even if you DO trust them.
