Uncle Mikes

I purchased my M&P 40 Shield last week and until yesterday I had no ammo or anything else for it, so yesterday I stopped at my LGS to buy some ammo and also picked up an Uncle Mikes holster as I'd like to carry the M&P. What a POS that was! I never wore it out of the house and you couldn't pay me to. I could make a better holster with a sock and clothespin!

I'll be ordering an Alien Gear or Crossbreed holster like I have for my Ruger real soon! Heck, my Remora is better too.

The dealer threw in a cheap Blackhawk holster when I bought my Nano. Same thing; basically nothing more than a sock to cover the gun in my range bag. I sprang for a Crossbreed QuikClip and have no regrets.

Hogwylde... too bad you didn't post about getting a new holster.

Many of us could have told you that Uncle Mike's stuff is inexpensive for a good reason.

Nice. I think the only reason I have more shoes than holsters is it's necessary in the varied weather of CO. Also, my first holster was a Winthrop. Good quality, but the leather loops stuck out too far and made it harder to conceal. Can't bring myself to sell it, though...

Can't blame you!
I still carry in my first holster. The leather is super soft and form fitting. I don't know that it will ever wear out.

OH, and I live in Florida and don't have one pair of flip flops, Never have.

If you look the next time you go to Wally-World, you'll see they sell the same Blackhawk holsters for BB Pistols as they do for real guns. They are the same holster.

We get the weather where it's 55 one day and 15 the next... so shoes. No flip flops, though! They're actually quite bad for your feet; they make you walk unnaturally and can cause problems, so quite smart not to have any!

Kramer1113 and telpinaro,
I'm old enough to remember when "flip flops" were called shower clogs. They were originally made to wear in public showers like gym, camping parks, etc., so you wouldn't stand barefoot on the shower floor and pickup foot deceases. Them people started wearing them to the beach to prevent burns from hot sand. Then people thought that it looks cool to wear them all the time. Now they are the single largest cause of foot injuries. But, at least you look cool until you lose a toe or foot.

Agreed. I have an Uncle Mike's but I'm going to use it just as long as it takes for my Alien Gear to come in. Right now it looks like the first or second week of Feb (they're a month out on orders and still have to ship it once the order is in). But as a get-by option, they're functional.
