this is good news. way to come together team! i suppose all of the nations that deprive their citizens of their rights (read iran,china,russia,mexico......too many to name) will be upset and will scream about it. we are a free people with rights and their citizens are not. why is that?

Hooray! Now if we could trust this administration to not somehow "sneak" a signing during August recess and "declare" it law since Congress is not in session. I can see them draft immediate rules or executive orders taking affect before Congress gets back. With many of their other executive orders, they effectively made law by fiat so would not put it past them.

The part where the United States said it needed more time? Translation.... Obama needs this hot potato to go away until after the election so it won't interfere with his re election. Besides he can sign it after the election anyway... whether he is re elected or not.
