Tuscan Man Raises Money to Get Residents Free Shotguns!

Title of thread: Tuscan Man Raises Money to Get Residents Free Shotguns!

I thought hmmm.....So what's up in Tuscany these days? Then I read the link. LOL

Then I thought hmmm.....Maybe this guy is responsible for the City of Tuscon declaring a state of emergency recently.

Then I read that the program is buying single-shot shotguns for people in high-crime areas. I doubt either the local military base or the gang-bangers are going to be particularly concerned about a cache of single-shotties in the hands of a platoon of under-trained octogenarians across the city.

When the guy thought up the idea, he probably had more significant weaponry in mind and just found he wouldn't be able to afford enough of those to really make a difference. But at this point, it amounts to little more than symbolism over substance, and I just can't stand when conservatives, or gun-owners/gun-lobbyists engage in such useless "activism."

Then again, the city already has authorized itself to put military personnel on the streets. Maybe the guy should lobby the city to make the request of the base commander. I'm sure the crime rate would shrink significantly if they did that.

Single shots are surprisingly easy to reload.
Not trying to scold you or be condescending or anything, but just be careful how you defend certain weapons like AR's or pistols or something by saying stuff like "shotguns can cause just as much or more damage" when our dumbass VP suggests that everyone get a shogun and that you don't "need" an AR or 15 round .40 cal pistol. Rather than getting your point across (an accurate one I will add), that comes across to them as "oh so then I guess we should get rid of those too then..."

And while we're on the subject, the next time someone like Biden or Bloomberg or anyone on tv utters the phrase "what do you need with..." I wanna hear someone in the background yell "MARXIST!" And if I wanna go to the shooting range or some other legal place to shoot my AR-15 and have fun like a responsible law abiding citizen, yes, I do NEED an AR-15 and a 30 round mag (or higher to make it even more fun!)

Easy and fast are two completely separate considerations. Three guys break into your home and all you've got is a single-shot weapon of any caliber/gauge, I don't care how easy the reload is if you can't do it fast enough to stop number two and three from continuing to advance on you. And of course, that assumes that you're proficient enough with the weapon to take #1 out with the first shot, which many, if not most, are not when under pressure and the effects of the adrenaline dump.

You're not really suggesting that a single-shot weapon is adequate for self-defense in most instances, are you?

But Blues, this is for shooting down the drones man!

I suppose any gun is better than none when you need a gun.

Being the only bad guy facing a single-shot 12 gauge would still be a sucky situation. Being one of several is still dicey as you don't know who gets the blast first.

That said however, for any defensive purpose I'd surely rather have a pump-gun with an extended magazine or a semi-auto equally equipped.

Oh come now, Bob, you know I'm a prepper. You don't think I failed to plan for the drones, do you?

AND it's perfectly legal (but don't ask the idiot N R A President Keene about that - he thinks users of such anti-drone technology should all be felons).

Bring on the drones!
