Treason here, treason there, treason everywhere: Is treason the new Nazi?

Godwin's rule: "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1 (100%)"

The "Nazi" accusation has become so common it has become meaningless. Join a forum about pet food and sooner or later someone will call someone else a Nazi because of their opinion.

The same thing is happening to the word "treason." Disagree with another's political view: Than just call it treason, because calling those you disagree with Nazis has lost its impact.

Now we have Rick Perry spewing that accusation against Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke because Perry doesn't agree with Bernake's economic policies.

Bachmann hired highly competent advisers, listened to them, and left the crazy lady statements behind to become a legit contender.

Perry saw the void left by Bachmann's transformation and he has apparently decided to fill it.

Yup. Comparing to Nazis is passe, nobody listens when you call liberals "socialists" or "communists" any more, so what's next? Just accuse those who disagree with you of treason of course!

Perry is filling Bachmans void?

I never understood the name calling, its very counter productive, especially when the person actually has a valid point. I do find it funny when words are used out of context or the person doesn't even know the meaning of the word and is just regurgitating it.

You better check your facts. Bachmann can't go a day without messing up her facts.
"Before we all get started, let's all say, ‘Happy Birthday to Elvis Presley' today!" Bachmann shouted

If brains were dynamite, she wouldn't have enough to blow her nose. Do you really want a bigger moron as POTUS than zero bama? That's what you'd get. How many gaffs does it take before the general populous dismisses her as just another Palin empty headed moderately wealthy bimbo?

Kind of like the word terrorist to describe the tea party. I think it shines a good light on terrorism which shouldnt be the case.

Teach Michelle Bachmann how to drive. Put her on I-95 North. Welcome to Dixie, Now leave! Some folks need to stay in Minnesota, maybe it will fall into the ocean or become part of Canada, eh.

It's even more perplexing when you study linguistics. Nazi = Nationalsozialist = Nationalist/Socialist = Nationalist = A person who advocates political independence for a country.

Is it just me, or do women politicoes seem to draw more "fire" than your average male politico.

I mean the ladies of "power" seem to get crucified as a matter of course. (Hillary, Palin, Pelosi... now Bachman)

Just sayin'.

That is the ONLY good thing I've heard about Perry.

I-95 will never get her back to Minnesota, if that is what you wish. Which ocean do you think Minnesota might fall into??

Don't realy care just so long as she leaves SC and the rest of the Republican party alone. My previous reply was a rewording of a flame I received from poster "SemperFidelis" on the Alabama issues forum. It seems that some people take issue with me taking issue with a "may-issue" carry permit system.

I don't think women candidates are getting more fire, I think they're getting their fair share of fire. But it's kind of shocking, because we, as a society, have always treated women differently than men. Which is fine by me in most cases (hey, I'm sexist, I'll admit it).

Girls really shouldn't fight, unless they have to, so it's weird seeing them jump into the male-dominated mud slinging.

Plus, honestly, Palin and Bachmann have both made errors and gaffes that strike the public differently than those made by their opponents.

Sounds about right... A good thing for Rick to say with conviction. If that is what he believes. If you also believe it, follow the piper...

Find me a man or woman with principles, strong beliefs, and great character, willing to adhere to the provisions written in The Constitution of the United States of America and willing to put the best interests of the nation and it's citizens above their own aspirations of greatness or the agenda of some demented puppet master playing demigod... Charm, charisma, great hair, and well connected friends in special interest groups has gotten us to this point...

A few gaffs by Palin or Bachmann are put all over the internet (MSN, Yahoo, etc), on cable news day and night and in print for weeks. Sound bites galore, and ridicule on the night shows. The endless Obama gaffs of course are rarely discussed on those afore mentioned "media" outlets. To see those nearly constant gaffs by Obamao and his minions you have to view a balanced network (showing left and right wingers) such as Fox News or featured in freedom oriented (right wing) radio programs to get a tast of those endless gaffs. As amusing as they are, it's sad to see Mr. and Mrs. Typical "oh I don't care about politics I'll just vote the way CNN feeds me misinformation" get a daily dose of such imbalanced gaffery. The true travesty, however, is that many of these people do in fact vote.
