Travelliing from MO to Texas

With a ccw permit in Ohio, we are thinking of traveling to MO. then down to
Texas, to Dallas.

Well, I know I can -travel- through Illinois, but I can't exit our vehicle with it. Fair enough.

But, what is the law in Texas ? Illinois and Texas are the only two states that don't
have reciprocation with Ohio.

Driving all that way...what to do in Texas? Same thing? not?

In Texas you can have it your vehicle based on Castle Law. But do not take it out unless you are going from car to house/hotel room. Then back to car.

In Texas it can be in the car, loaded, but must be concealed.

That's what the Texas Safety Department told me a few yrs ago. I had them send me an email to verify it so I could print it and have a hard copy in the car.
Since them I've added an Arizona permit and am covered from Wisconsin to Arizona, we do not go through Ill.
Also, Oklahoma has the same regulation as Texas.

Call the appropriate State's Safety Departments for the current rulings.
