Traveling

Hello, I have a registered Glock in Atlanta GA. I need to travel to Florida.
I also have my parents in North Carolina.

QUESTIONS:
Can I travel with my glock in my carrying case to either of the states?
How can I travel with my pistol?
When can I get to either Florida or NC, can I wear it on my outer belt?

I currently am waiting for my concealed carry permit.
When I get my concealed carry, is it legal to wear in my IWB holster in both States?
Thanks

1. What is a "registered Glock" in Georgia? Georgia does not have firearms registration? So I'm confused how it got "registered".
2. According to Federal law you can always travel state to state with an unloaded firearm in a locked exterior compartment of a vehicle or a locked case if there is no exterior compartment. The ammo must also be separated from the driver - as long as the gun is legal for you to possess in the state that is your destination. NC and FL are no problem.
3. You can travel by air, train or car with your pistol. By air it must be unloaded and locked in a hard sided case that cannot be pried open to gain access to the pistol and declared at the baggage check in counter. Ammo is allowed in containers made to carry ammo (factory boxes are good) and different airlines have different requirements for ammo. Amtrak is pretty close to airline travel but you have to notify them you are going to be traveling with a firearm at least 24 hours in advance.
4. Open carry is prohibited in Florida. Open carry is permitted in North Carolina - but there may be local restrictions and local prohibited places.
5. A Georgia Weapons Carry License is honored by both NC and FL so with the Georgia license you can carry concealed in both states.

Here are the states that accept your conceal carry permit from Georgia. It is a good idea to have the states handy for both Allowed and not allowed just for your own information for trips. That way you klnow what needs are to stay safe. Anyway, just my two cents.

Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming

Florida law (traveling with gun)

Once you get your CCW, it will be recognized by Florida and N. Carolina, but the firearm must remain concealed in most locations. Before you get your permit, Florida requires that the firearm when carried in a private vehicle be "securely encased" (which would include your Glock case) or "not readily accessible" (i.e. locked in your trunk.) If you are going to do much of any traveling, pick up a copy of the latest edition of the Traveler's Guide to the Firearm Laws of the Fifty States. Buckeye Firearms Association | Defending Your Firearm Rights sells it online and I usually pick up a new one every other year.

If you go to handgunlaw.us you can look up the laws of any state you want to visit. I have found it very useful in my travels.

Thanks for the great answers..as for the registration, I mean purchased at a licensed gun store. They did do a check on me, so all is ok.. I did not know I can wear my pistol concealed in the states listed below. I'll just make certain to have my concealed permit with me at all times. Thx Again..
