Traveling with Co-Worker

I will be traveling with a co-worker in near future with our wives for overnight stay. I have my Kentucky CCDW. My issue is that he is a convicted felon. My question is could he have any issues with me having a handgun in his vehicle even if it is on me personally? I have always been curious about this as I work with several felony offenders.

I think the statutes concerning firearms and felon’s is, they can’t own one or handle one. The fact that you’ve got one in your car and you have a permit to have it shouldn’t cause a problem, just don’t let him come in contact with it.

The gun will have to be locked up when you are sleeping so he can't gain access to it.

Well we will be staying in separate rooms. He actually won't even know that I have it.
