Question, if you are travailing to an other state with your CCW permit and if has restrictions on it..... and the state you are going to accepts it...do you follow the carry law from that stste or yours.

The first thing you need to understand is that none of these internet lawyers are going to be there with you on the side of the road.

Is your permit a permit to carry a concealed handgun or not?

Does the state(s) you are traveling to and through recognize your permit?

Have you spoken to a second amendment lawyer in your home state about this?

Ok...my permit is for Hunting and Target...I live in N.Y.....So lets say I go to AZ and take my Gun, can I CC anyplace, anytime I want in that state with my permit.

A Hunting and Target permit is NOT a CCW permit.

Hunting and Target is not a ccw permit, however if you are going to AZ they are an open carry state, but do have restrictions where you can carry a weapon. Please check their laws, in fact check the laws of any state to which you are going to travel. And get the information from the horses mouth, check with the individual states, very easy to do.

As Nightmare says, Hunting and Target is *NOT* a CCW permit. As far as I can tell, no other state recognizes a "H&T" permit as a CCW permit.

But, also as Nightmare says, AZ is not just open carry, but also constitutional-no-permit-needed concealed carry (with some limits,) and you won't run into any problems open-carrying. (I've seen people open carry into restaurants in Phoenix and nobody batted an eye.)


As others say, you follow LOCAL laws, so, for example, AZ bars carry in bars without a CCW permit. (Pun intentional, sorry.)

As with any such advice: I am not a lawyer. Look up AZ law before traveling there.
