Transfer of weapons to ISIS

There's been some question as to the validity of the report. The box of hand grenades pictured is full of Pineapple grenades. The U.S. Navy was one of the last users of this grenade when it was discontinued in the 1970s.

As we aren't allowed to have them, they have to get rid of them surplus grenades somehow.

And before you laugh to hard, I got a shipment of ex-gov't ammo the other day. Included were 20 Cartridges, Rifle Grenade, Caliber .30 M3. And some others that were packed back in 1945. You'll never know what you'll find in gov't storage. Even some British .303 ammo has been known to show up. During the Gulf War, we used ammo that was made during WW II. During WW II we used WW I ammo. And during the Vietnam War we used Korean War and WW II ammo. As long as ammo/explosives are properly stored, they can last a long time. I have tins of .30-06 gov't ammo that is older than I am and is still sealed. Those who got a damaged Spam can opened theirs and found that it was just like new.

Howdy,

They could have been weapons from various countries that have provided small arms so it's possible the story is true. Heck, remember the Iran-Contra Arms Scandal from the '80s? We were buying used and outdated small arms from Iran and giving them to the Contras.

Congress had told Reagan that he could NOT give the Contras military aide so it was provided in a round-about manner.

But face it....... Airdrops are just that. Airdrops. Sometimes they do NOT land where you think they will land. Mother Nature can effect were they land and so can equipment failure.

Give guns to ISIS, give guns to Mexican cartels....

Just don't give guns to US citizens (remember the ban on reimporting M1s from Korea?)

Very true. When I was on AD back in the 80's I fired 1,000s of rounds of .45ACP ammo that was made between 1944 and 1954.

One of the various weapons I used was a Remington 40-XB in .300 Win Mag and for AP loads we pulled the bullet out of black tipped .30-06 rounds that were made in 1945-46.

When we would go into the field we could either get the latest MREs, which sucked, or WWII Era C-Rats. I remember one of my boxes was made in 1944.

Since we did it once, we should do it again.

But next time, tie a string to the crate and to the grenades so that when the box is opened they get a bang of a going away party. ;)
