Too many permits?

Hello forum peeps. First post here, but I have enjoyed the forums here for some time. Lots of valuable information here.

I'm just wondering if there's such a thing as too many CCW permits, or is it really the more the merrier?

I'm new to carying concealed and have recently obtained three permits; Resident Idaho, then Utah and Oregon with Florida pending. Only other I think I'd like is Arizona, which makes Nevada carry available.

I don't mind applying for and maintaining a stack of them, but wonder if there's a point where it's silly or ?

Thanks!

more the merrier!

If you travel then it certainly cant hurt.

most important, i would say, is to be completely informed.

make sure you are applying for non-resident permits in these other states and to specificly look if the 3rd state recognizes "non-resident" permits from the 2nd state.

just because you hear utah recognizes arizona permits and you are a idaho resident. double check utahs stance on the arizona non-resident permit.

really trying to be thorough and get my point across sorry if it seems repetitive. and please avoid kalifornia, illinois and ny, they dont deserve your tourism or tax dollars!

You're going to feel really silly when HR 822 passes! :P

But yeah...it's a question of value for money. If you travel a lot, or want to be prepared for traveling on a moment's notice - is it worth all the money you're spending on this? That's what you must ask yourself.

Personally - I have Massachusetts and Utah right now, which gets me pretty much all the states to which I travel. I am planning on getting Arizona soon, because I'm traveling to Las Vegas in April.

Move to Tennessee. Our permit is honored in all but eleven states... Mostly New England area, but the left coast is in there too along with Mafia Capitol (Illinois). Washington state is OK.

Missouri is good for resident permits allowed in a lot of places. Was kinda upset we still can't go to Wisconsin. But wasn't planning a trip there anyway.

One risk

Most CCW applications will ask if you have ever been denied a permit/license. If you get denied it may put at risk you existing licenses especially when you go to renew.

The more applications you file is the more chances you have of getting denied.

Some of these applications are tricky. I know of a story where a man was denied because he forgot to disclose a 20 year old M4. The M4 was not a problem, but they claim he lied on his application by not disclosing it.

Thanks for all the insight. Sounds like no harm, really, in having so many then.

I'm not sure I agree that the more you have, the more chances you have at being denied. I see the point about making an error, but so far none of the apps. I've done have asked if I was denied a permit in another state. Not saying they don't.... just that I haven't seen it yet.

I have WI, AZ, and FL, and can pretty much go anywhere I would travel anyway. I have relatives in AZ and TN, all I have to do is get around IL and I'm good...
