Gun Owners Say this State’s Police Are Targeting Out-of-State Gun Owners for Random Searches
By Greg Campbell
The right to bear arms has existed since 1791. This right, in addition to the other rights outlined in the Constitution, are rights that extend to each and every citizen, regardless of their state of residence. While a great many laws vary from state-to-state, every American ought to enjoy the right to bear arms uniformly throughout our union.
However, opponents of the Second Amendment feel otherwise and, currently, our nation is a hodgepodge tapestry of different gun laws that infringe upon the individual right to keep and bear arms.
While gun owners are continually persecuted throughout many states, one anti-gun state, Maryland, might be taking it a step further.
According to a new report from The Washington Times, Maryland police officers have been stopping out-of-state motorists to thoroughly search their vehicles to see if these out-of-staters brought a gun into the anti-Second Amendment state.
The Washington Times reports:

My Thoughts:
I would stay away from Maryland as much as possible; it’s not worth the hassle. I think the police are targeting the various license plates and if their computer tells them this person has a gun permit from another state, they pull them over and harass them. I’d like to know what their initial justification is, when they use to pull these people over.

I may be going out to the Midwest in April and will be going in my pickup. I have NRA stickers, and gun and ammo stickers (yes, I'm a redneck)on my windshield and back glass. I will be scraping them off before for I leave. I will have to go through Maryland and Illinois both. Why advertise to the cops you own and might be carrying guns?
I will reapply them when I get back home.

Aug. 2013 I drove through MD, NJ, NY, CT, RI, MA on my way to ME. I did not take any guns along because of a lot of bad things about these "anti-gun" states. I also have a friend in VA that said that he was not going to take his guns with him because he also had heard to many stories about these states. I did not like not having my guns with me but I knew I neither had the time OR money to fight these states. Wish I did! Because I would love to cram their stupidity down their throats!

Drove through, right? As long as you aren't stopping for the night, have your state ID/FOID/Permit, there are no grounds for the arrest. I go in and out of NJ all the time for training. There's no law preventing you from being in NJ with your gun as long as you follow the law. I was stopped for speeding in NJ. He asked about guns and drugs. Told him the gun is in the trunk. He took a look, gave me a warning and sent me on my way.

When I am asked that question I respond by saying I have nothing illegal in my car.

Good answer.
.
Some years ago I was stopped for a cell-phone violation. He asked if there was anything in the car he needed to know about. I said no. He asked a couple other questions which I avoided. He then asked if I had an guns or drugs in the car. Told him I had a licensed firearm on my hip. He got pissed. "I just asked you if you had anything I should know about in the car. Don't you think you should have told me you had a gun?" My answer was simple. NYS has no statutory requirement to notify. Told him there's no requirement for me to tell you and if the Governor, Assembly and Senate thought you had a right to know they would have put it in the law.
