This really makes me sick the Freedom from Religion Foundation

This really makes me sick.

There is an atheist group called “Freedom from Religion Foundation” that has erected a sign in NYC beside an Easter display saying “Nobody died for our sins, Jesus Christ is a myth”.

It seems that at every Christian Holiday this group goes out of their way to discredit the Christian God loving people of the United States.

My question is, if they are so angry concerning their so called Freedom from Religion, why aren’t they putting up various displays and items in areas when the Muslim’s have a Holiday or a display?

I know why, they know that the Christian community won’t confront them, they are fearful of the backlash from the media, the Muslim community and all of this political correctness of anything that is anti-Muslim.

Why is it an issue that the FFRF is exercising their religious right? Agree or not their religious rights should be protected just like our gun rights.

IMHO atheism isn't a religion therefore this group isn't using their religious freedom but rather their free speech freedom. I, too, would like them to post something anti-Muslim and see what happens. Christians holding signs saying "Jesus loves you" at a Muslim event were forced to leave by the police. Where was their religious freedom? The Muslims had theirs but the Christians were forced to leave or threatened with arrest. This theory that not all Muslims are violent should be exposed as a lie because too many of them are. There were young kids, encouraged by the adults, throwing things at the Christians. And while I'm expressing my opinions, what about the federal government shutting down for religious holidays? Why isn't FFRF objecting to every federal, state and local government office being closed Dec. 24th and 25th? I'm done.

The US Constitution does not guarantee freedom from religion. It restricts the Government from establishing a required religion. It gives freedom of religion or not, your choice. So why are the atheist so cranked up. I still will never understand why they spend all their time fighting against something they don't believe exist, to start with. I don't believe in ghosts, but you don't see me putting up billboards and demonstrating about it. I just think they are like a bunch of "children" trying to seek attention by making a lot of noise.

Wow! You seldom see that many predictable, disingenuous (and completely wrong, not to mention misguided) slogans and tired cliches in so concise a format. Of course, they are for the purpose of affirming membership credentials for continued good standing in the anti-nonbeliever/non-Christian community. When you think about that, it's more sad than comical.

well...most "christian holidays" are practiced on established pagan holidays in which they took the dates/time of year to make their forced assimilation easier on the masses. for example, easter and xmas. neither happened on those dates/time frames, but were used since they were already established as celebratory times by those they were trying to convert.

every christian who celebrates either of these w/ easter bunnies, colored eggs, xmas tree, yule logs, mistletoe, etc are using pagan rituals/symbols in their "worship".

Muslims is not a risk to Satan but Christians, the real person that is behind this is Satan, well true Christians so he want attack them but us Christians but all of this is going to change real soon.

The atheist's greatest fear is that there is an afterlife.

I would wholeheartedly agree with you if the sign that the OP pointed to didn't try to discredit another's religious beliefs. The FFRF did not try to affirm membership credentials. All they did with that sign was try to put other people down. Your statement, sir, is the disingenuous one.

I'm all for freedom of speech. I'm all for religious freedom. But you cannot possibly sit her and tell me that on the Easter holiday weekend, the most important holiday to the Christian world, that a sign that says "Nobody died for our sins, Jesus Christ is a myth." is about affirming the credentials of the FFRF. It was a move to discredit the beliefs surrounding the Easter holiday and the Christian religions.

i fear more on a daily basis of a sinus infection or stubbing my toe.

something i've been pondering...if an immortal god sent himself (as his own son) to earth to "die" but cant actually die since he's immortal, how is that a sacrifice to all mankind? it would merely be symbolic and not true at all.

Sounds like we have a couple of very sad and angry atheist out there. And you know who you are as well as we do.

so the people that talk constantly about the upcoming eternal damnation of billions of people that do not believe in their "correct" god and are counting down the days til everyone dies arent sad and angry?

i guess when i put it like that, it sounds perfectly healthy and normal.

Fact: An atheist will never win an argument with a Christian nor change their mind. So go blow smoke somewhere else.

Christians are unrelenting. Atheists take a page out of their book (not that one) and they get all bent out of shape. 😀

Wouldn't it be better if we could talk guns at the gun forum and talk religion At the religion forums?

Fwiw I don't like such abrasive methods. I find them unnecessarily combative. But I also don't like the raw pics of aborted babies I've seen some Christians display on the side of the road to advance their agenda.

1 Corinthians 1:18-31 (New International Version [Corrupted version but easily read])
Christ the Wisdom and Power of God
18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate." 20 Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

When I saw the "spring bunny" it was a sad commentary on political correctness. Btw yes I know Easter is from the s ancient God of the 13th century Germans Eostra. But since 17 century Christians have used the bunny symbol.

There is no reason to put the sign next to a Christian one other than provoking a confrontation. It is disrespectful as well

"It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived." -G.S. Patton

If you have a problem talking about religion on a gun forum, even though this thread is in the "Off-topic" forum, then why even post about it? This doesn't make sense to me. You say one thing, and do exactly the opposite.
