Things Seem Changed At 100 Degrees & High Humidity

Yesterday was day one of PPOTH. It is now 3:26 am and day two starts in a few hours.

Day one KMA. Eleven hour day, mostly outside in the sun and humidity. My level if health is best described as desk material. I work inside all day in an airconditioned business.

After class, I fell into a cold bathtub and I am still there. My clothing was latterly wringing wet. I do not recall ever sweating so much.

The thought crossed my mind of calling day one, good enough as I got home yesterday. Close to heat stroke, diminished hearing, numb legs, a little disoriented, and wondering what a 56 year old fat boy was doing in the heat, chasing one more NRA certification.

Feel better now, but my goal is only half completed. Day two still stands before me, and it will be hotter today.

My goal in all of this is what? To teach concealed carry in the state of Nebraska. I have all the certifications I need already, just waiting on bureaucratic paperwork to wind its way through the system. So why do another class? A class that is not required for my short term goal?

At 7pm yesterday, not sure I had an answer for that question. Even now, not looking forward to trashing another days clothing with my own sweat.

I think the answer is dedication. Wish me luck today.

Day two was not as bad heat wise. The heat tapped everyone on Saturday.

Even as hot as it was, everyone had a good time. About ten students. Met a few new people, got to work with a few people I had taken other classes with.

Glad to hear you survived. I took my PPOTH in Reno, it was a "dry heat." I didn't think Nebraska got that hot. Does it normally get that hot?

If you can go through that type of training under that type of physical duress, you have shown yourself that you can handle yourself in a stress-induced situation. Best wishes to you sir.
