Any of my fellow oc'ers run a thigh rig? I just bought one for my serpa and before everyone jumps me sayin thigh Rigs are dumb I'm required to wear one at work at my new job (armored car) idk why I just am haha

Generally speaking, I'm not a big fan of drop-leg (thigh) holsters, tho find them preferable when hiking or camping. We can't OC here in Arkansas, so it's not yet been something I've done much of, tho did in Virginia almost two years ago during a family vacation. They definitely have their uses and I prefer them if I'm wearing something other than a pair of dress pants, khakis or the like. They're great if you're driving, as well. Wore them while Deployed during my AD USAF time, as well as a part of my job running an armory and find they work well w/ABU's and like pants.

When I do wear a drop-leg, I tend to wear it as high up on my thigh as I can, almost uncomfortably so - if you guys know what I mean. I don't like it down too low, as it tends to flop around a bit too much.

Yeah I put mine up high when I was sizin it on me today it was almost to my knee when I took it out of the box. I put my level 3 serpa on it I ain't to fond of a gun bein away from my hip

Thigh rigs are ok but the serpa is crap.just my opinion
I'm not a big fan of the idea of one out where it can get a lot of dust and debris in the mechanism, either. I've never had a problem w/my Serpa CQC, but have heard horror stories. As such, I've tended to use the more generic kydex makes of holster.

I really like blackhawk I have been buying there stuff for a while now pretty new to the serpa myself I have a couple different ones I have the level 2 and 3 for my glock 22 and one for my 1911 I'm gonna have to try them in the field a little more get them a little dirty before I judge them yet I'll let y'all know how they hold up

The one I liked that I had to wear in one tour in Iraq was the Safariland. Liked it better than the Blackhawk I had to wear on a previous tour. It just felt better, overall, plus I felt that my pistol was more secure.

I wear the Safariland 6004 SLS Tactical Drop with level 3 retention when I carry openly just low enough for a good firm grip with fast draw.

I wear thigh when I hike. Like you guys all ready pointed out, it should be as high as possible, low enough to just clear your gear. I had a flimsy utg Airsoft thigh rig from back in the day, what a piece of junk, black hawk and safari land are the way to go for sure.

Safari land is a good brand as well not to familiar with there systems I will have to check them out ya can't ever have enough holster lol
