They knew...

i have no doubt they were aware of plans ahead of time. whether it was an inept president or conspiracies of war profiteering, i'll leave that for the crazies of the board.

My vote is for "inept President" and or Administration over the latter. Only thing I have to add is that the President we have now, is worse.

Could this be another "reason" for war...? Another excuse to get militarily involved in another country...? IDK... maybe...

Are we really sure it wasn't "allowed" to happen...? Again, IDK...

Have the people in the middle east told us they want us out of there countries for decades...? Yep, sure have...

How would you guys feel if another nation planted itself on your soil against you're will...?

Should the murders be brought to justice? Yep... but not by drone attacks and ground troops... maybe the CIA should get back to its roots and hunt these bastards down instead of investigating American citizens.

(Embassy compounds are not occupying a country or else the US IS ALREADY occupied by almost every other country) And many of the ruling people in those countries have asked us to come help them, can't win for losing.

How would you guys feel if another nation planted itself on your soil against you're will...? Again Embassy compounds are not occupying a country as we had in Libya and Cairo, whom were attacked. Barking up the wrong tree.

And AMEN to your last sentence, or maybe the stupid politicos should allow the Marines to carry live rounds when on embassy duty in these countries. Which they did not in Cario before this attack.

It's always easier to see what took place after the fact. Did the administration at the time miss some red flags? It would appear they may have. Is the world a safer place because of 9/11 and the aftermath? Not in my opinion. As the article suggests is this all a chess game being played by a hand full of rich fat cats? Certainly plausible, always follow the money.

@Doublebarr- I never said we were occupying those countries... but do the people of that nation not have a right to decide who gets to plant a flag and call that little peice of property theirs?

They do... just as we do here. You disagree with a particular nation having a piece of "our" property? Protest... decades of protests don't do the trick? What then?

Through their governments they do, or those that have representative government do. Those that have ruling governments need to look to their own government before looking to who owns the property.

Agreed, just as we do here. The problem lies within our government, not the "people" buying or claiming real estate. Or are you saying if I have a problem with anothers countries national living on US soil with permission of said government, I should think about storming their "home" dragging them out, sodomizing them and killing them because of course I was left with no other voice? That is what was done in Libya and what your words are reading towards.

The peoples of Libya have always told their "gov't" not to allow America to plant our flag... the gov't didn't listen... so they got rid of "that" gov't and con't to tell us to leave... we didn't. Do I agree with what happened? No, four people were murdered! However, I can attempt understand the frustration and mindset that would drive a people to such an end.

Until we(you & I) are in THAT particular position, we have no idea how those people felt, how frustrated they were, what diplomatic means they have gone through previously... all we know is the story the American media paints.

At some point we have to examine our own foreign policies, we have to... and if a country has told us for decades to get the hell out, and we don't listen.... what do you expect them to do? Just put up with it? We are our own worst enemy, and our marching around the globe telling countries how to act is destroying us... and it doesn't have sh!t to do with providing trade in goods. America is slowly bleeding, and it's our own fault.

Again, do I agree or support what happened? Murder? NO, of course I don't... but I know we have to examine the cause, and not just shoot from the hip with knee-jerk reactions.
