Interesting day.

Open-carried into a convenience store this a.m. As I entered, I noticed an LEO at the counter. As I walked up to the 2nd register, I glanced over and yup, sure enough, he's looking at the XD on my hip and then looks up at me. Now, we're eyeball to eyeball. He nods and I nod back, turn and leave the store. The way it should be.

Later this afternoon, I'm talking to an LEO friend as we're training at the dojang. He's doing some SWAT training this week and the conversation drifts to my training at Frontsight. He remarks that it is becoming well-known amongst the brothers-in-blue that a lot of civilians are better trained than the average cop. And they basically have no problem with armed and trained citizens. I grin because this is...the way it should be.

All in all, a good day for the RKBA.

Well...I seem to be an LEO magnet these days. I'm working here at my desk this morning, when the phone rings, and an LEO buddy says to expect the FBI to come visit pretty soon. I'm thinking he's joshing me but nope, within 15 minutes, here's a young special agent introducing himself to me. He's wanting to discuss some MC issues around the state and no, I'm not in trouble.

At any rate, we shoot the breeze for about 1/2 hour, he notices my holster and asks if I carry. Uh...yeah. He's real interested in the XD and asks to see it. So, I retrieve it from my desk drawer, unload and hand it to him, he checks it out and hands it back. Pretty soon we're tallking Glocks, ARs, and he invites me outside to check out his MP-5. He departs after we exchange cards and agree to get together to shoot sometime and maybe do some hunting together this fall.

Cool enough, but that's enough LEO exposure for me for a while, thank you! I'm getting a little jumpy, here...:biggrin:

I do like living here, tho...nothing like an easy-going gun culture...

You had me worried for a second. As I was reading the first paragraph I thought oh no, they are beginning to round up all the right wing, paranoid, mean spirited,Christian terrorists.
