The VA debacle

Here’s something that might make you think twice about what the Obama administration is doing with our tax dollars concerning the VA debacle.
Last year the VA received an increase in their budget of around $500 million, well that’s all good and well for our vets, but how do you think they spent this increase to their budget on, they went out and spent almost $500 million on office furniture, desk’s, draperies, display cases and other such items. So where was the oversight to this deplorable use of our tax dollars?

What I want to know is, How can the US Government pay $68,000 for a sex change operation for the turncoat/trader that gave away our secrets in the Wiki-leaks case, but deny treatment to those brave heroes in Pheonix, Az. that died waiting for treatment from the VA there?

And here I was in the Army for twenty-eight years and have file a claim, no wonder they keep on sending me letters saying that they looking into my claim. Well I'm glad I'm not depending on the government but God Almighty.

I still waiting to see people fired. In the hospitals that were involved the CEOs, the managers, and anyone else who was part of the delay of our vets being treated.
If those people are still there the problem will never be totally fixed. Then we need to see some go to jail.

I heard the IRS was keeping an eye on them to make sure everything was done properly.
Who's watching Lois?
.
During the last six years of his life I took my dad weekly to the VA hospital. He had Parkinson's disease, was legally blind, couldn't eat, speak, swallow, walk or urinate. But he was awake, aware and always smiled. He held his little border collie tight and listened to TV all day. And he was a tough old navy bird. His care at the VA was very good. They provided his meds, wheelchairs, home medical devices, a home-health aid every weekday for two hours, a weekly nursing visit, his eyeglasses and even the nutritional products for tube feeding. We paid nearly nothing for all this care. I hate to see this scandal tarnish the whole system. After his death in 2010 I gave much thanks to the people at the VA who worked so hard to make his life a little better.

This Is What Death Panels Look Like.

The scandal at the VA are omens, sneak previews of what the delivery of all health care in America will look like under Obamacare, and so it is fortuitous that the scandal should surface now. The VA system is outdated and doomed. It cannot work. Like Obamacare, it is based on the insane notion that medical services can be provided effectively outside of markets. Obamacare is just like the current VA system and government-run systems abroad. These lethal queues are an everyday occurrence in United Kingdom and Canada. Those who are honest about what happens in those countries acknowledge that those individuals and groups with political clout get the best treatment; those without, suffer and die prematurely. If your medical malady lacks political sex appeal, too bad for you. This scandal is the essence of the Obamacare-mandated “death panels” about which Sarah Palin wisely cautioned her countrymen. The Veterans Administration scandal is a dire warning to the American public about what awaits them if the Obamacare train is not soon derailed.

I never understood why we just don't create MediVet to go along with Medicare and Medicaid. Just give them an ID card and allow them to seek services among the best doctors and hospitals.

Gee, I wonder what country those best doctors and hospitals will be in once Obamacare has taken over?

I agree with BCI. The bad parts must be fixed, it's not the whole system. Once you fix the problem by changing policies and getting rid of the people at fault, you have fixed the system. Granted, it's a large problem. But when you have gangrene in one leg you get rid of it, you don't kill yourself. Just solve the problem and keep watch so it doesn't happen again. Have you heard the old expression, "don't throw the baby out with the bath water?"
