the author sounds a bit naive, being from NYC where people have lived in abandoned train tunnels for decades I am not as appalled as that guy is

We should all be appalled that such conditions are allowed to exist in this country. We are sending billions of dollars all over the world to countries that would cut our throats in a second yet we refuse to help our own. If that exalted bunch in Washington would get off their duffs and prod POTUS to get jobs started again, the problem could soon go away. But all the good Liberals wouldn't stand for that!
