The Truth about Vietnam

I don't know how many of you guys were serving doing the Vietnam era, but if you were you most likely have the same feeling for the traitor John Kerry as I do.

John Kerry spent 4 months on a swift boat and returned to the United States to become the Anti War poster boy and went before the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs where he deemed United States war policy in Vietnam to be the cause of war crimes.

And after all the lives we lost, we left the South Vietnamese to be slaughtered by the North.

This I didn't know did you?

It is a common belief that America lost the war in Vietnam. This needs to be said, It was the Democrats in the US Congress that lost the war in Vietnam.
The simply defunded the war and brought the troops home. This is probably the first loss for America, and not for the US Military, The Left gave it away.
Now they, and people like Kerry, Obama, Pelosi, and Reid are to blame. Our only losses are the fault of the Democrats. We will lose the war against the Islamic Jihadist because of the same people.
They all need to go.

Militarily we won Vietnam but, ideologically and politically we lost. There is a lot more that goes into winning a war than tallying up the body count. I mean no disrespect to those who served there.

One can have there opinion towards John Kerry but, trader is not one that I would use. I wonder what your opinion of those in Washington, DC who made the decisions to go to war would be. What would you call those who never spent one day in John Kerry's shoes. Those "Chicken Hawks" who are eagar to send off to war any body other thatn there own family to die. If there is anybody who's opinion that I would respect as it related to that war it would be John Kerry's. How the Dems allowed the Reps to swift boat a man who had boots on the ground Nam is still a mistery to me.

Johnson and McNamera screwed up and lost the Viet Nam war. He ran the war from the white house, he did not let the generals run things like they should have been doing. Obama is doing about the same things now. That seems like a strong trait of the democrats. Kerry got medals that he did not deserve.

Our OSS trained Ho Chi Minh and his boys in the 50's when France asked for our help. The prevailing thought, at the time, was that Ho Chi Minh wasn't as bad a communist as was our feared Red Chinese foe Chiang Kai-shek. Needless to say he was just as bad and the rest is history.
This training insurgents hoping they will side with us seems to be a reoccurring event. DC, the WH and the boys fail to learn from history. And most of the American populace is too apathetic to care.

Mappow,
I agree. As you said "Those who fail to learn from history"..........are doomed to repeat it. Obama and the Left-Wing Liberal Progressive Democrats are repeating it now. It didn't work for them then, and it won't now.

We've (da gubment) trained nearly all of our now enemies at one time or another, it's our addiction. We've got to ensure a perpetual enemy so we can ensure perpetual war and thus, perpetually growing State power.

Maybe if you would look into Kerry's history, you wouldn't be such a cheerleader for him. Check into his discharge from the Navy, revocation of decorations and awards and subsequent political maneuverings to have his discharge changed to honorable. Kerry is not what I would call a sterling example of a military officer and definitely not a person who should hold office in government. The Swift Boat personnel who served with him didn't hold him in high esteem and they were close enough to him to see the real man.

First of all it is not "trader" it is 'Traitor". You really need to read "Unfit for Command" before you start defending chipmunk face. Your spelling is horrible but the book is still an easy read.

One thing that just floored me was Kerry awarding himself...yes awarding himself 3 Purple Hearts. I don't know about stolen valor but the Purple Heart is the highest honor our soldiers can receive. Oh I know there is a mess of stars and the Medal of Honor but nothing speaks more volumes about the courage of the American military dude than the Purple Heart...and chipmunk face awarded himself 3...read the book but please don't tell me what a wonderful chipmunk face kerry is. Oh yeah...he was awarded a Bronze Star for shooting a wounded VC in the back...again a supreme act of courage. The drama that occurred where he awarded himself the Silver Star will make yo rotflol. (was that a correct acronym?)

Evidently you weren't around when John Kerry and the rest of the Traitors were adhering to our enemy while stabbing those of us in the Military at that time in the back.

The Congress shall have Power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.

I'm not so sure "facts" will mean anything to some people here OG.

The biggest problem we face today is people blindly trusting in MSM & certain politicians. Political blinders is why we get stuck with people like John Kerry & John McCain. Americans have a tendency to give credit & accolades to people that may not be as deserving when you really look at FACTS and go deeper into researching records.

I would call John McCain a hero and respect him for his service & suffering. (But, being a POW doesn't necessarily make you a good candidate to lead the free world.)

I wouldn't call John Kerry anything more than what he is a POS lying TRAITOR who turned his back on his "brothers" and his country. His military service doesn't mean CRAP to me!!! It certainly doesn't make him a hero in any way.
