Riiiiiight....That's according to commie Bloomberg and of course is a lie. Crime stats have been manipulated and by who you might ask-----NYPD. Whistleblower came forth and said that his precinct was systematically underreporting crime - an act that resulted in a suspension and time in a psychiatric ward - has been validated by an internal department investigation. Wait didn't the Brady bunch give high accolades to NY/NYC?

The crime rate of a jurisdiction is not dependent on whether law abiding citizens own firearms.

For example, Amherst , NY has been rated the safest cities in the United States several times over the last decade. During those years it had one of the lowest ratios of citizens with pistol permits in WNY.

The low crime rate in Amherst was mostly a function its population demographics. It has been dropping down the list in the past few years because of changing demographics along its eastern border with the City of Buffalo, as poverty and drugs spread across the border into Amherst. One pundit suggested that Amherst could reclaim 1st place again if it simply moved the town line signs a few blocks east.
