Think about this; in most stores the checkout is at the front of the store by the doors. The BG after completing his robbery goes to the back of the store to what, get a pop and get trapped by more customers coming into the store. The cleak has seen him for sure and doesn't get shot. Just how aware was everyone on that day when an innocent got shot in the back.
It is very unfortunate that this individual was shot for no good reason and can only learn from his past actions.
I can't see using a single situation as a deciding factor to CC because of the responsiblity that comes with such a decision. Having a weapon and being able to use a weapon for its intended purpose is two completely different concepts. Brandishing a firearm and not being able to pull the trigger has caused people to die who otherwise would be with us today. If you can carry, if in doubt you need to decide if you can.
Really don’t know why he was in the back of the store after he robbed it, maybe he heard my friend coming in and after warning the clerk to stay quite went back there until my friend left, but he took too long and the perp got antsy and screwed the pooch, we’ll never know. As for this being a deciding factor for me to CC, this incident was in the back of my mind for a while until I finally obtained my CC. I had heard and read various crime incidents over that period of time and realized that I would rather have a gun and not need it than not have a gun and need it. Another incident had also caused me to realize I should have a gun happened a while ago, when I was coming home one night and as my head lights washed past my house as I was turning into the driveway, I saw a man looking in one of my side windows and as I came to a stop he ran away. I didn’t have a gun at the time and I though what could I do if he had a gun. I’m not a crazy nut case right wing gun toting conservative, I just want to be able to protect my family and myself just in case.
