The LEO didn't kill a dog this time

No doubt, he deserved to be shot.. What right does a 50 year old partially deaf gentleman have to be a woodcarver? I'll bet his X-Acto Knife wasn't even registered. The officer had to assume it was loaded, probably with a high capacity blade. How else are we going to eliminate woodcarver crimes in this ghetto? It's becoming a growing epidemic. Thats why I always carry a loaded X-Acto knife in my truck..
/sarc off.
This cop should be convicted of murder ONE.

MURDER in the first degree. What a complete failure of the officer. I was so hacked when the officers followed single file to the dead man and jerked him over, my ears turned red.

I'm livid this madman didn't get to shelter within a prison. Unbelievable outcome. Slap on the wrist. Unbelievable.

Mostly no one around here believed it was a justified action. This link has problems (it stopped for me near the end) but it is what was seen in the local coverage.

The victim was know in the area. I have heard no indication that walking while carving is illegal. It may have involved a walking while native American violation. Nothing about the officers behavior or actions has ever made any sense. In particular the "order" followed 4 seconds later by six shots at the back of a man turning to see what the hell was going on.

The second video also shows some interesting points. Look at the posture of the shooter and the distance to the body (laying face down with the bullet holes in it). Yes a man with a knife could move that far in a very short time; if not laying face down with the knife no longer in his hand. And this may indeed be the proper procedure for this situation; but it is chilling. The mass approach when the swarming hoards arrived does justice to the memory of the Keystone Cops. Seattle police have been under "fire" for years over excessive use of force and using excessive force. The feds got involved in investigating the police force. Bad report. Little has changed after a couple of years. New mayor last week. As previous ones, he vows to clean up the police department.
