The LCP never fails. Impressive.

Last night was a great milestone for me and my pocket gun, the Ruger LCP. I polished off 100 rounds yesterday that put my LCP with over 500 rounds fired through it. It has never hung out one time since I opened it. Now for the part that impressed me.. I had three types of ammo I used : Hornady Critical Defense, UMC FMJ brass, and TulAmmo (steel cased) FMJ. I loaded my six round mag up with each if these for example, the UMC then the HCD then the Tulammo until the mag was filled. The gun worked flawlessly. No jams. It went bang everytime. I was very impressed. I recommend anyone who is looking for a solid pocket pistol to get an LCP.

Ruger puts together some pretty nice firearms. I don't have the one you've mentioned, but the ones I own have been very reliable. I've considered the LCP as a future purchase.

My wife and I each have an LCP, great guns! We have put over 500 rounds through each. We did have some problems with the Tulamo, we ran 100 rounds through with several hang ups, that stuff is a little to dirty even though the price is nice.

Curious, is 500 or 1000 enough to gauge reliability?

I've had 2 fail to feeds and one failure of the slide lock on an empty magazine in around 2500 rounds of FMJ through my FNP40, all 3 failures were with Federal 165gr loads which I won't purchase again after I shoot whatever I have left. The failures were within the first 200 rounds of the Federal, probably in the first 1200-1300 rounds through the gun. Since then I have shot alternately the Federal 165s and other 180gr remans with no issues. Was it just the gun getting broken in? Hope so, though all my cheap reload HSM, etc. 180 gr rounds have been flawless. I'm feeling pretty comfortable now but would like to get to 6-8k rounds and see where I'm at.

I haven't shot enough PD ammo get a comfort level with what feeds best through this gun.

My little LCP is carried everyday. It's handled every type of ammo I've put through it without any problems at all.

I have put about 1200 rounds through my LCP and it's never given me a hiccup or a concern. It's a daily carry for me and one gun that I can truly say I bet my life on.

500 rounds? What does one day at the range prove about reliability?

Seriously though, I've really liked every Ruger I've ever shot, with the exception of my dad's .22 Single Six. That's one gun I'd trade off in a heartbeat if it ever came my way. And even that one is dead reliable. I just don't like taking a minute and a half to reload a 6 shot pistol.

My Ruger LCP has never caused a problem, along with my Ruger SP101 and Ruger Mk III.

None, nada, zilch..........

I've heard a lot of good things about the LCP, here and at the local range. But even though I know .380 is much better then it was in years past, I'm still favoring .38+p as my basic defense ammo. The few LCP's I've handled are definitely well made pistols.

Have about 500 rounds through mine of different flavors. Not a single malfunction. Its my BUG, I carry gold dots. The trigger slap will where ya out at the range. At least mine does.

I loved my lcp and miss it daily.

It had over 1 k rounds through it when the takedown pin sheared, Ruger fixed it free and fast but I decided to move up to a 9mm anyways.

I picked up a kahr cw9 but don't care for it so im going to buy a lc9 as replacement.

My wife and I both picked these up for primary carry guns. For the size and reliability, its hard to beat. If I were to carry something bigger, I doubt it would be able to conceal it 50% of the time given South Florida weather and light clothing.

Before purchasing my Ruger, I was doing some research on semi-autos and I ended up finding the LC9 and I just had to have it. Never handled one much less shot one but I knew it was the one for me and don't regret for a minute buying it. There were others that caught my eye but not like this one although the itch to buy another gun is creeping up on me. I like the SR9C as well as the Colt 45 1911 but am glad my LC9 was my 1st. Actually she's my 2nd. I had a blue S&W .357 with a 6" barrel that I sold and regret that move every minute.

But "Elsie" (LC) fills the void beautifully. I've put about ~1,000+/- rounds through her without a single hiccup.
