The Last Carjacking

just read this. i'm sure the family will say how good he was and he'd never done anything wrong. the others will say he should have driven off w/o shooting...if he felt his life was in danger, he did what he needed to.

Stupid is a big problem here in the Charleston area. I walk around feeling pretty smart. I love the theory of relativity.:):)

There is only one person that truly knows what happened, the other one is dead. But based off the news article alone and nothing else I'd of just drove off but off course we do not know anything but a miniscule amount of information.

Yeah, it's hard to say. We still don't know if the dead guy was the driver or the passenger of the rear car. Maybe he was running low on gas and needed another free car. If he was just trying to tell the shooter his brake lights were out, he shouldn't have been yanking on the door handle.

I'll bet he won't do it again:):)

The story doesn't offer much info, but based on what little info there is, I think the shooter should have simply stepped on the gas pedal and drove away...which is what he did do after shooting. We all like a story of the good guy winning, but some of these cowboys are giving gun owners a bad name.

Latest news indicates that the man who was shot and killed is a slimebucket with a long list of criminal charges. Another "good boy". Still hard to understand why the driver did not just drive away, unless he was positioned in a manner that precluded that possibility. Sure seems like the driver clearly knew what was about to happen with this guy but he may still be in trouble.

Typically this type of carjacking is attempted when there is another car stopped in front of the victim so he can't just drive away. This is a good reason not to pull up too close at a stop light or stop sign. No statement as to whether the BG had a weapon. My car can't go 1200 ft/sec, no matter what my wife says, so the presence of a gun or even a club would change the dynamic of the situation.

The driver of the car in the rear sped off. They are still looking for him. Now tell me the dead guy wasn't up to no good.

There is no duty to retreat in SC. The shooter was well within his rights. He removed another predator from our midst.

His decision to shoot may have saved lives in the future.

A very definite plan of my SA is exactly what you say Caribou. You are sitting in your best opportunity to avoid a situation--your car--- may not be 1200fps but is sure faster than your feet. PS: Now own an FNH 5.7x28 pistol----2200 fps.

Whatever any of you think, the fatal shooting was ruled justified under the SC Protection of Persons and Property Act. Wake up BGs, you screw around other people's property or they themselves in any kind of aggressive manner, SC is telling you that, as reasonable people, we will not tolerate being threatened with imminent bodily harm or death.
