State of Maine

This looks like a Revenue Generating Nightmare.
I did not see minimum and maximum class sizes.
They'll have to use concert halls to hold the "Certification Classes".
Another Example of State Laws truly exceeding what the Federal Law requires.

This is exactly why our 2nd Amendment reads "Shall Not Be Infringed". Lawmakers are more interested in generating revenue than protecting our rights. This is also why am I so embarrassed to be American these days.

Just contacted my democratic rep and he voted against it. The sense is it won't go anywhere.

Kinda hard to decipher the link becuse it only includes the amendments and not all of the original statues but it seems like they're trying to increase the minimum age from 18 to 21 and introduce more oversight into the firearms safety course? I couldn't tell by that whether firearms safety courses are already mandatory in Maine.

Overall though it just seems like the typical liberal anti-gun agenda chipping away little by little.

I live in Maine as well and some of these people are just idiots. Depends on where you go in this state you could have everyone carrying a gun or someone reporting you to DHS as a terrorist for owning one. With that said the main point of this bill that really concerns me is that it defines a private seller as a "firearm dealer" under law which puts a private citizen under the scope of needing a firearms license to sell a firearm. I could see where if this passes they try to charge a private seller for selling one gun under law that they were selling firearms without a FFL. Before you start, while it may be slim think about how many people have been charged ILLEGALLY with a crime that did not apply.
