The Idiot Signed it....

This will not come to pass. They can sign anything they want this will not get past the American People.

We said the same thing about universal health care and then the crooks in charge used reconciliation to force it down our throats.

Stock lock and load...

Great links, Seeya. A quote from Jefferson in that second link says it all plain and clear:

TREATIES, Power to Make, Limited. By the general power to make' treaties, the Constitution must have intended to comprehend only those' objects which are usually regulated treaty and cannot be otherwise regulated. It must have meant to except out of these the rights reserved to the states, for surely the President and Senate cannot do by treaty what the whole government is interdicted from doing in any way.
-Manual of Parliamentary Practice. Bergh 2:442. (1801.)

We are not bound by looking only to SCOTUS rulings to find out what the Constitution means. In fact, as many rulings prove, that is a sure recipe for lack of understanding. Always look to the Framers, whether it be through the Federalist Papers, speeches in official settings like the Floors of Congress or from the Oval Office, or just from casual utterances or personal journals and letters, they will all be more reliable than anything said by "interpreters" that came after them. The above quote says it all. F off Kerry. Case closed.

:bad:The fact that John Kerry signed the UN small arms treaty should come as no surprise to anyone. Obama, Biden, the Far-Left Democrats, and the Farther Left Secretary of State can not pass on any opportunity to shaft the American Public. I fear that, without Divine intervention the United States will cease to exist in the near future. The book of Revelation mentions The Bear coming out of the North, but there is no mention of the Eagle. As far as our government is concerned, be afraid. BE VERY AFRAID! Get ready to fight like there is no tomorrow because there may not be one if we just lay down and let the government continue to shaft us.... one right at a time.

It is true that it will not be ratified by the Senate. But that will not stop Obama from instituting several of the provisions by executive order. His first act will be to ban the importation of firearms. Brazil (Taurus) will accept the treaty and follow its provisions. If you like Glock, Taurus, Beretta, etc. you better buy them now. It will also provide democrats, who tend toward treasonous acts anyway, some cover when they demand that the U.S. conform to "international norms" despite our Constitutional rights.

There is nothing in that treaty that secures our rights; and they have refused to add such a provision. Even Canada, that had strict law gun control laws up to the recent repeal, refused to sign it because of the restrictions on their citizens. DO NOT TRUST the disingenuous snakes at the UN or in this Administration. For progressives, UN tyrants, and other criminal thugs lies mean nothing and are a natural part of living and conducting business. According to the brilliant diplomats at the UN the U.S. is a human rights violator simply because private citizens are allowed to own firearms.
Glock and Beretta both have manufacturing in the US, and they could expand. Others, though, could be in real trouble real fast--Springfield Armory (Croatia, Brazil), RIA and ATI (Philippines), and a bunch of others could be out of business in the U.S. And then I wonder what owners of their guns will do for repair parts. Obama is low enough to ban parts as well as guns. Anything, legal or not, he can do, he will do.

It is clearly time for the US to get out of the UN and the UN to get out of the US...before it's too late and the progressives in government give away all our sovereignty.

This WILL be a problem. The Dem-coms hold 54 seats in the Senate - and it's the Senate, not the House, that has to ratify or not. The only things that will actually kill this treaty is if the senators either support the 2A all the way, or think they will get the first bullets in the second revolution for voting to ratify. I hope it's mostly the former - but I can name several of the top of my head who will vote for it.

ANY senator who votes to ratify this piece of dog dung treaty needs to be turned out of office, or, better, tried for perjury for failing to uphold their oath of office. I know my two pervert senatrice will vote to ratify it. Stupid people. Make this a test for reelection next time they stand for office. For ANY office.

These morons should have actually read the constitution, we the people may use the second amendment to protect ourselves from tyranny foreign or domestic. If pushed I will.

The good thing about executive orders

Kerry is traitor to this country and has proven it on several occasions, including when he testified before Congress on atrocities in VietNam that never happened. So why would anyone be surprised that there was no hesitation to sign away American's Constitutional rights.

The one good thing about executive orders is that the next president can rescind them. The next president, assuming we can get one who believes in constitutional government, will have a lot of orders to rescind. I do hope the Senate fails to pass it. I'm not as confident as I used to be. If it is passed then it needs to be put to the supreme court to overturn it, if it is within their purview. It should be since it makes our constitution subservient to the whims of the UN. We'll see.

I don't think a treaty can be overturned by SCOTUS in its entirety. It can, however, be heard by SCOTUS as to whether or not it is being enforced according to the Constitutional authorities of the US government. Treaties do not override the Constitution. Some very good links on the subject were posted earlier in the thread, Post #20. SCOTUS may be able to strike certain provisions out of a treaty, or rule them unconstitutional, but SCOTUS has no authority to completely undo an international treaty that the Constitution reserves only to the Senate and Executive to pass or reject. It's that separation of powers thingy I think. :sarcastic:

These Liberal Progressives could care less about being voted out of office at this crucial point of their game, a game by the way that the are "progressively" winning. What they really care about is their New World Order AGENDA, at any cost. If they are voted out of office for their Agenda accomplishments, they have nothing to lose except their title. Be assured that their loyalty and sacrifice will be well compensated for the rest of their lives. Believing the word of God, we are living in the final days of the last days of this Last Generation. Knowing that Israel is God's Prophetic Timepiece, we're rapidly approaching MIDNIGHT.The timeline is set and in motion, everything will continue to wax worse & worse. The End of The Book has been written, all the childish imagination inflation & wishful thinking in the world will not slow down, stop, or change anything. Maranatha!

Here's another link to a place with great free resources Home - The Federalist Papers

I don't think it will be a problem, simply because of the Liberals that are elected from pro-gun states. They don't (for the most part) care about us or the Constitution unless it is politically expedient, they care about getting reelected. If it comes to ratification I see our fearless leader having another tantrum like when the most recent gun-bans were attempted.

No problem for Glock lovers. I have one in the store that gets around the import requirements. Made entirely in the USA. Beretta also makes guns in the US but in a Commie state of MD.

Um, Beretta is moving out of MD....

Who in this country will enforce it? Will the military forget their oath to protect American citizens and follow the orders of the dictator in chief?

Not the ones I've talked to lately. They see what is coming and many are laying in their own stockpiles for when they need to join the common man in casting out the traitors in DC. That is why 0bama wants the DHS, and other agencies armed. But there will be patriots in those groups who remember their oaths too.

I predict another up-tick in gun purchases. Tomorrow Cabela's is supposed to get in another 22 Ruger SR1911s; I don't plan on missing out this time.

I'm fighting myself not to buy the one in the shop. And then the boss goes and says he is going to get a Wiley Clapp edition Colt 1911 in for me. Arghhhhhh!

I managed to get the last Ruger SR1911 this time. Got their display gun and a discount because it was the display one. Last time I was an hour late.
