The Gun That Replaced the 1911 - VIDEO

VDMA VIDEOS
I enjoyed pulling together this video providing a fairly thorough overview of the history, feature, functions and, yes, controversy surrounding the Beretta 92 platform. It features accuracy demonstrations and shooting demonstrations. Hope you like it. Let me know what you think and please chime in here or on the channel with any stories of your personal experiences with the Beretta 92, or as it is known in the military, the M9.

What a great video. Of all the firearms related videos that I have watched on Youtube, this one is not only the most professionally done, but I found it quite informative. I have been shooting since the 1950s, and when I can learn something new, as I did with this video, I find that exciting. BTW, doesn't the slide lock back when the last round is fired? I noted that you reloaded and had to rack the slide in the video. Keep them coming - I'm a new subscriber!

I purchased my very first personal sidearm (Beretta 92F) back in 1991.
Later on when I was in the Military Police, I was also issued the Beretta as my duty sidearm.
In 1993 I purchased my very first Glock (Glock 21).
I truly preferred my Glock over the Beretta.
I now own numerous Glocks, but I no longer own any Berettas.
Just my .02 cents.

Great video, very informative. You put it together nicely, and it had lots of facts vs. opinions.

Wow, that's quite a nice compliment sir, I appreciate it.

Yes, the slide *should* lock back...I suspect my thumb might be resting on it though, due being used to how I grip my Glocks and 1911s. I will need to watch that. Some people just prefer to put up with it.

The point shoudl be made the primary reason for replacing the 1911 was capacity. As far as accuracy go to a bullseye competition or other shooting event and count the 92's. There is a reason there few if any used. The same reason if you go to any rifle competition you do not see anybody using a AK... The 92 is a decent weapon I own one myself. For defense it would not be high on my list of choices.
