The government is not your friend

If you or anyone you know still thinks the government isn't out to get you and your guns watch this video.

6 years in prison for lobster tails, fines for natural grown trees that arent on a list, felony charges for cleaning a government ditch they asked someone to clean, permits for child lemonade sales, medallions for taxi cabs to keep new comers out, making things illegal if you make money off selling meat, "obstructing government"? This is stupid, the Government is too big, too many laws, too many POINTLESS laws....Good post, thanks

All to true and the sad part is obummer is just getting started!!!!

Here's the deal: Any law that goes against the powers set forth in the Constitution is not a legal statute. Therefore, as citizens of the Republic of the United States of America, we are duty-bound to disobey it.
If Americans had been taught the Constitution, they might have the intestinal fortitude to tell the federal government to kiss off. We write to our employees, the legislators, and they ignore our pleas for redress.
The majority of our federal and local officials are bound by oath to protect and defend the Constitution, and very few of them even recognize that they have taken the oath. The majority of those who can recognize that they have taken the oath, do not understand the Constitution they've sworn to defend. They think that "the law is the law", but do not understand that an illegal law is no law at all.
As it stands right now, the only way to stop it is to rebel. How do we do that, without using firepower? Serious question.

On phone, can't quote, but in reply to UATKP, the only possible way to revolt without firepower is to organize a full - on tax strike. Starve the beast is the only passive way. Otherwise, strap up, stand up, and act up, or hope the Massa's chains rest lightly upon (the generic) you.

Blues, I'm all for a full-on tax revolt... but how do you revolt, when your taxes are taken out of your money before your employer pays you. In my case, since I'm retired and no longer work for a living, taxes are removed from my Social Security and my Military Retirement... nothing I can do as far as I know. ????

It should stand to reason to anyone who's ever read a post of mine that I agree with the rest of your post. In fact, I agree with what you're saying here too, but wanted to expound on my abbreviated answer above a little bit.

One, "passive resistance" probably wasn't the right phrase to use in the context of a tax strike. If one were to go that route, there would definitely be extreme and expensive consequences, unlike a truly passive protest like peacefully sitting someplace where cops are ordering you to move. You still might have consequences, but they would be relatively minor, and wouldn't likely to be of the level to effect the rest of your life like a tax strike could, and probably would.

That said, a tax strike would set in motion litigation and asset forfeiture processes, as opposed to SWAT or National Guard teams sent to hunt down, disarm, arrest and prosecute the seditious militants calling for, or already participating in, open rebellion.

There are myriad moral reasons to participate in a tax strike. I've considered the idea for a long time, probably more than 15 years, always based on my moral objection to SCOTUS' ruling in Roe v. Wade. All pro-lifers oppose abortion, obviously, but even though SCOTUS took it out of the realm of a state issue and basically "passed" a new federal law with the ruling, before ObamaCare, tax-payer-funded abortions were extremely rare, if not completely non-existent. Now they not only exist, but are mandated under ObamaCare. The Catholic Church is hardly the only "one" whose religious freedoms are violated by this mandate, even though their church-wide prohibition is the only one to have gotten any real attention as "valid" opposition. Every single tax-payer who is pro-life and bases their position on their religious beliefs are having their constitutional right to the free exercise of religion violated with every fraction of a penny that comes out of their earnings and goes towards paying for abortions. I don't think God cares that it's fractions of pennies per check or not. If you don't stand against evil, you stand for it. The only fence God recognizes is the one separating Heaven from Hell, and those who think they're safely sitting on the fence by not taking a stand against the evil of abortion are deluding themselves.

The fact is that this government has so usurped our God-inspired Constitution as to make the whole facade of moral governance a complete lie. We have the moral authority to resist it. I think we have the moral duty.

One of my favorite bloggers has already initiated a tax strike based on the ObamaCare abortion mandates. I've posted a couple of videos and/or blog posts by her before, but I don't think I've highlighted her tax strike. Her name is Ann Barnhardt, and she's already had her bank accounts seized, and she believes the taking of her property is imminent. It is coming sooner or later in any case, as are the takings of everything else she owns. She is almost certainly going to prison too.

I wanted to find a video or writing by Ann herself describing her reasons for her strike. I happened to run across an interview of her by another blogger whom I never heard of before finding this link in a search, but it's pretty recent (November, 2012) and fairly thorough in covering her rationale. There are links to Parts 2 & 3 underneath the audio player on that page. If I could force every American to hear what real faith, commitment and courage is by listening to these recordings, I would. Since all I can do is ask all those who claim to love freedom and our Constitution, is to give them a hearing before commenting on Ms. Barnhardt's tax strike, consider that favor asked of you.

Anyway, a tax strike can work without unanimous participation by all tax-payers. I don't know what the tipping point might be, but we can overwhelm the system on our own terms if 20% or so of us took the plunge and stuck to it. Of course, that's not 20% of those of us on this forum, it's 20% of tax-payers across the country, and that ain't an easy number to achieve, no doubt about it. Seems like an alternative to open rebellion worth trying though. Not that I really believe there's enough testosterone left in America for that to actually happen either, but you said it was a serious question, UATKP, and I tried to answer it as though it was.

Sorry, was writing as you were posting.

How Ann suggests doing it is by claiming as many dependents as your employer will allow you to claim. I think she said nine dependents will reduce the confiscated taxes to zero. After that, she says, just don't file. If you're striking or boycotting the tax structure, don't participate at all, is her rationale.

I have no idea if you get to claim exemptions with SSI or military pensions. If not, you can try going to Ann's website, click on the "Contact" link on the left, explain your dilemma and see if she has any advice for you. I've only written her a couple or three times, and she's never replied to me, but I wasn't asking her how to go about doing what she's doing. I was just sending words of encouragement. She doesn't have any "Comments" section activated anywhere on her blog, including within any of her blog-posts, so email is the only way to try to get a response. If that doesn't get a reply, PM me and we'll figure out if and/or how you would be able to participate. Even if you can't directly participate, you can type, and you're plenty articulate enough to help organize and spread the word.

The government is not my friend? Actually, as far as I am concerned, this federal government is my enemy and I despise it. I love this country but I have no respect and no love for literally anything in this federal government except for the military and even there, I have very little respect for the generals and admirals who seem to have noses the same color as yada yada of our dear resident in the whitehouse.

Thanks, Blues, for your post, above.
I don't believe this will hijack this thread, because this video proves the government is not your friend.
I would love to spread this video around the world, through any means necessary, because there is more truth in this video, than I've ever seen... anywhere.
Now, I will say that this woman doesn't have a hint of fear in her... anywhere... not even in her mouth.
Watch it, if you dare.

WOW! Just wow! She really lays it all out on the line. Very inspirational. I'll have to research this some more.

Thanks, gej, this needs to be spread around the world. People need to step up. She has really made me do more research than I already did. And she has made me take a long look at myself. I'm not liking some things I've seen.

Feel free to hijack away.... the more information we can spread the better

Historical Overview of the Khmer Rouge | Cambodia Tribunal Monitor

A Russian born in the late 50's early 60's will tell you a story about good government..

In my career at a technology company that has a very diverse workforce, I've meet some of these people.. And I've gotten to hear stories about where they came from and the things they experienced.. I almost cried when Kenny (name changed when he became an American citizen) finished telling me about his brothers being killed as he watched, while in Cambodia in the late 1970's.. He held it together better than I did..

Anyone who believes that would not, could not ever happen here.. Get your head examined.. And keep your guns..
