The Beauty of Steel and Wood - HD VIDEO

Is it just me, of does anyone else sometimes just like to admire the old wood and steel M1 Carbines or M1 Garands? There is something so powerful about holding in your hands a real piece of history, the weapons used to defeat the totalitarian forces of evil during WWII. Heck, sometimes I just take them out of the gun safe and polish and lightly clean for no other reason than I just love handling them. Anyone else do the same?

Here's a video about one of my M1 Carbines and three of my Garands, with a couple Garand shooting demonstrations.

Video here.

Yes sir! I did my military training with M1s and M1 carbines - can't beat wood and steel!! AAMOF, got a nice hunk of steel this very day - a new CZ 75 Shadow T. Nice to have something of substance in one's hand rather than a handful of plastic!! :)

I share your love for the classics... one of my favorite weapons of all time is the M1 Carbine. So much so, I bought two of 'em... I bought a Thompson as well(1927A1 semi-auto), I'm still in the market for an M1 Garand... might just go do it soon though. I'd like to have a 1903 to go along with my Mosin...

And yes, I take them out of the safe to disassemble, oil, and reassemble just for the hell of it... well, b/c I enjoy them so much.

And I'd absolutley love to pick up an M2 Carbine... dreamy... lol.
