The AR-180B... kinda neat looking... opinions?

I have been toying with the idea of trading in one of my M1 Carbines for something else. I was considering trading the carbine for another SU-16 when I saw an AR-180B on the shelf at the local gun shop. It accepts STANAG mags like the SU-16, which is what I think I want is another carbine that accepts AR mags... w/o being an AR.

What do you guys know about the AR-180B? Experiances? Opinions? Better or worse than the SU-16?

Thanks

Well... Armalite doesn't list it anymore, so it's going to be difficult to find a NRFB one and new accessories are going to be few and far between. That said, I thought it was an excellent idea, an improvement on the AR180 even.

Likely better quality/reliability than an SU16, but it's going to lose the race for being properly accessorized.

I'm not an accessories kind of guy for the most part, put a sling on it and call it good.... The AR 180B uses a few of the same parts from the AR, so that helps a bit in that regard. I handled one at the local shop, it feels more natural than the SU16(I have the Bravo model)... the reciever is not plastic like the SU so I'd expect longer life/more rounds before a failure in that regard. The SU can except more accessories, but I haven't added anything to mine... like I said, I'm not an accessories kinda guy.

Hmm, I'll have to give this one more thought...

Well, somebody else made up my mind for me... the AR-180B is gone!!! Thanks to Obama, no dount... heh.
