"Thank a liberal for America's gun ownership"?!

That's the title of an article on Townhall.com today. It makes the following observation:

According to the Associated Press, the number of police officers killed in the line of duty by firearms is at its lowest level since 1887. Despite all of the semi-auto rifles (AKA: “assault weapons” Gasp!), high-capacity magazines, pump action shotguns, “military style” stocks, and hollowed point bullets (not to mention couple dozen million more people) we managed to kill fewer cops than when the cap and ball revolver ruled the day.

Liberals, it turns out, appear to be good for business.

The article also notes the effect Chief James' comment about the effect legal firearms carriers have on crime is having on the gun control debate.

Maybe I'm just slow today but I don't get it.

I don't think bumper stickers are available. This is the avatar for the Second Amendment Police Dept.,Google Image Result for http://2ampd.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/NWPT360.png. I've tried contacting them for info, but have never gotten a response.
