I ran across this and found it so terribly wrong I had to post what has too be the worst abuse of power against women yet.

Texas state troopers caught on camera probing women's privates aren't isolated incidents: lawyers - NY Daily News
~
The first video was graphic enough. Two women, as shown in a Texas state trooper’s dash cam recording, are probed in their vaginas and rectums by a glove-wearing female officer after a routine traffic stop near Dallas.
~
A few days later, a second video surfaced. It was an eerily similar scenario, but this time the traffic stop was just outside Houston, and with different troopers. Two women, pulled over for allegedly speeding, are subjected to body cavity searches by a female officer summoned to the scene by a male trooper.
~
Unlike the earlier tape, this one had clear audio. Yells can be heard as the female trooper shoves her gloved finger inside one woman.
~
In both invasive incidents, the female troopers don't change gloves between probes, according to the horrified victims.
~
Texas officials say the searches are unconstitutional. So do attorneys for the shaken women, who have filed federal lawsuits.
~
But lawyers and civil rights advocates tell the Daily News these cavity searches are really standard policy among the Texas Department of Public Safety’s state troopers, despite their illegality — not to mention that they were conducted on the side of the road in full view of passing motorists.
~

“It’s ridiculous,” said Dallas attorney Peter Schulte, a former Texas cop and prosecutor. “We would never put our hands anywhere near someone’s private parts,” he said of his time as a police officer in the city of McKinney. “When I saw that video I was shocked. I was a law enforcement officer for 16 years and I’ve never seen anything like it.”
~

Department of Public Safety Director Steven McCraw, who oversees state troopers, denied an interview request from The News. In an earlier statements about the videotaped traffic stops, McCraw said his department “does not and will not tolerate any conduct that violates the U.S. and Texas constitutions, or DPS training or policy.”
~
So how did Texas troopers hundreds of miles apart get captured on dash cams conducting body cavity searches under nearly identical conditions?

What person in any state of mind that wears a badge, has taken an oath to protect and serve, gets to the point of consciousness they think this type of behavior is acceptable.

"What person in any state of mind that wears a badge, has taken an oath to protect and serve, gets to the point of consciousness they think this type of behavior is acceptable."
Way too many.

I hope the ladies get a big enough settlement that they're forced to do a major overhaul of the state troopers. Unacceptable doesn't even begin to cover it.

This violation of rights needs to be made public and those responsible need to punished. It alienates the people whose support the police need the most. LEOs work in a dangerous and hostile environment. It is much better to have the respect and good will of the public. Violating rights and behaving as a hostile, occupying military force contribute nothing to good law enforcement. Crime is a real problem in this country; but deal with the real criminals within the restrictions placed on law enforcement by the Constitution.

As egregious as this conduct may be, I cannot say that I am at all surprised. I deal with the troopers regularly in my work and I can assure the need a good house cleaning. As usual, I have no doubt they will review their own conduct and conclude that there was not a problem while the offending officers sit at home on administrative leave while collecting full pay.

This from the article;

Apparently their policy is to ignore the Constitution and violate the 4th Amendment. This does seem to happen a lot in Texas. I recall that this happened to another pair of ladies not to long ago and they were awarded or offered a settlement before it went to court and one trooper was fired.

When mayors, police chiefs, prosecutors, judges and officers no longer see motorists as citizens but instead as mobile ATM's that are only there for the city to make a withdraw then you basically end up with crap like this. It is not against the law to molest an ATM so why not go ahead and do it.

I respect LEO's for the most part. They have a tough job trying to walk that line between upholding the law without violating it and protecting the public. I feel sorry for the good officers out there when things like this happen. It makes them all look bad. I'm not defending the actions of these officers in these cases but simply reprimanding them and/or firing them does nothing to correct the problem. If Texas LEO's are being convinced that this is acceptable somehow, the cause of that belief needs to be tracked down, shut down and all officers need to be formally advised/trained that such actions are in fact unacceptable.

I hate to be the one to say it but all the women agreed with the searches. I would have said NO and hell No when the police asked to search me. If you do not speak up you wave your rights.

I hope they all win alot of $$ so the police will stop doing illegal acts while trying to do their jobs.

Cops, both federal and state, should be held to a higher standard. My job is hard too but I don't break the law to accomplish it and neither should they. If they can't perform their duties lawfully like many cops do then it's time for them to find a new job.

I don't see how we are in disagreement here. Am I missing something?

If they are being convinced that this is acceptable then they failed and are not good citizens of the U.S. The constitution which has been around longer than they have is all they need in order to know that it is wrong and any mention of doing something like this should make all of them stand up and voice their opinion against such actions. Unfortunately I have not heard anything from officers about their disapproval of these types of actions. Their silence is their approval in my opinion.

When they agreed to a search, which no one should, were they aware that a cavity search was part of it?

I didn't mean for it to sound like I was disagreeing with you because I wasn't. Just adding my thoughts to the comment. I didn't have enough time to finish the post but I would further like to add that it doesn't help their image when the good cops protect the bad ones or do nothing to remove them from their ranks. There must be a better way to screen applicants to spot the bad ones before they become a problem. It seems that the new breed of cops don't respect our rights and have ego problems.

I can agree with that 100%. That's something I learned a long time ago and practice. If you are in the right, I'll back you all the way, but if you are in the wrong, don't expect Me to sacrifice My integrity for you because it's not going to happen.

Absolutely. Since when has a body cavity search while standing along a highway anywhere in this country been considered proper, ethical or constitutional. I contend that even with permission their actions contradict every department policy in the country and a big part of the world. That puts these officers back where they were, doing something unconventional and illegal by department policy (local/state statute).

"When they agreed to a search, which no one should, were they aware that a cavity search was part of it?"

I'm assuming that they were still living under the myth of the local friendly police man who is there to protect and serve. Unfortunately that is no longer the case. Police are modern day tax collectors and yes there are some good cops but I don't hear them saying or doing anything about quotas and nonsense like these road side searches. Someday the public will wise up and see police as just as just tax collectors. There job is increasingly becoming a means to generate revenue for the police chief, the mayor and the city. I hope I will see the day when some mayor threatens the public with the time honored tradition of claiming that if this new tax or fee is not voted yes by the public that the city will be forced to cut police officers and then the public informs the mayor that would be a win win for the people of the city.
